Conservation begins at home. Remembering to bring your own bag to the supermarket, not to litter, cutting plastic rings on soda 6 packs. The same applies in Costa Rica. The following is a list of ways that you can contribute to Costa Rica conservation.
Costa Rica conservation tips for travelers:
- Bring your own bag to stores or do not accept bags when possible
- Do not litter
- Pick up litter
- Recycle whenever possible
- Do not purchase snacks with individual wrappers
- Cut plastic rings on 6 six packs
- Do not cut down trees
- Plant a tree
- Utilize shared transportation
- Fill up your used water bottle again and again
- Use biodegradeable sun blocks, soaps, and insect repellent
- Use a T Shirt in place of sunscreen at the beach
- Do not waste water
- Avoid disposable products such as cameras and razors
- Use a digital camera
- Use rechargeable batteries
- Only request housekeeping to wash sheets and towels when necessary
- Turn off electrical items when not in use
- Do not feed wild animals
- Never buy authentic coral, turtle shells, or animal furs
- Never use soap in rivers or oceans
- Only leave your footprints behind
