If you are seeking a quiet evening with hot springs and dinner, the EcoTermales Hot Springs may be your perfect destination. Located just five minutes outside of La Fortuna town, the EcoTermales Hot Springs are known as one of the best around.
The difference between EcoTermales and other Arenal hot springs is that this property limits the number of visitors to 100 for each of the 3 daily time slots. You will never feel lost in crown and will always find your own place to unwind.
There are five volcanic hot springs fed pools that range in temperature from 99 to 106 degrees Fahrenheit. There is also a waterfall and freshwater pool adding to the ambiance. While the pools are manmade, they are built to contain and enhance the natural volcanic hot springs which feed directly into them.
In addition to hot springs, the property offers several paved and lit trails so you can explore the surrounding jungle. There are large trees, broadleaf plants and many tropical flowers. It truly is a magical setting!
When you arrive at the resort you will be provided with a time slot for your dinner. The meal is served in an open air restaurant, providing authentic Costa Rican food. Coffee and dessert are included as well. The property also offers a poolside bar for an additional fee. Offerings include juices, cocktails and other beverages.
Including transportation time the tour usually lasts 3 – 4 hours, though this is subject to change. This is a nice romantic and quiet evening that you are sure to enjoy if that is what you are seeking.

The staff at the hot springs were not extremely helpful and the timing of the evening was confusing.

I had a friend who went to Baldi springs and told me all about it (with pictures), so when we got to Ecotermales it was fairly disappointing. There was no real place to stake out seats that you could use between baths, there were no real choices in water temperature or pools, no pool bar service, (they could make more money providing that) and ironically, no hot water in the bathrooms after the hot springs. The included dinner was basic "all inclusive" fare. Nothing horrible, but nothing very good either. I would not recommend it to other guests.
