Overview

Here’s one action packed day full of all the adventures you want to do when you come to Costa Rica: Zip Lining, Rappelling, Rock Climbing, Whitewater tubing, and last but not least relaxing in the hot springs complete with volcanic mud bath!

You’ll hike up into the forest canopy along walking trails to the first zip line platform. Here your guides will go over safety procedures and zip line instructions before helping you strap on your harness. Once you are hooked onto the first steel cable you’ll zip over the treetops taking in the magnificent views below. At each platform your guides will meet you to transfer you to the next cable. You’ll be zipping on 7 cables and landing on 17 platforms crossing the dramatic Colorado River canyon.

Next you’ll have the opportunity to rappel down the canyon wall to the beautiful Colorado River. Your guides will fit you into rappelling gear and explain the safety systems which include a stationary cable secured into the canyon wall. In addition the guides will use a belay rope to control your safety at all times. You’ll work your way down the canyon slope getting a close up view of its interesting geological features. Once you are at the river you can rest a bit before using the natural canyon wall to rock climb your way back up again!

You’ll be ready for a delicious buffet lunch at Canyon Lodge after your morning activities so you can refuel your energy reserves for the fun yet to come. On your next adventure you’ll actually be in the Colorado River getting your next adrenaline rush.

Leaving lunch you’ll go to the banks of the Colorado River where you’ll get suited up complete with helmets to do a whitewater zip through exciting class ll and class lll rapids. You’ll be paired with either a specialized whitewater tube or a high tech inflatable whitewater ducky. Duckies are one or two person kayaks designed specifically for use in river rapids. You’ll be on the water for approximately one hour or an hour and a half before leaving the river on your way to your last big event of the day.

Ahhh, the hot springs! Time to relax those bulging muscles in the hot mineral waters flowing from the nearby volcano. You’ll immerse yourself in the soothing hot springs flowing through the natural grottos at Canyon Lodge. If you want you can cover yourself with rich volcanic mud actually cleansing your skin!

Round trip air conditioned transportation is included from the areas of: Flamingo, Papagayo, Riu and Tamarindo. Depending on traffic conditions, one way transport can take between 1 and 2 hours. Also included in this tour are the professional bilingual guides, all safety and sports equipment, lunch, water, fruit juice and entrance fee. Best tour! Super fun day! The rafting was super fun. Being in nature all day with fun people and helpful guides was great. Our driver was great and stayed with us throughout the the day.

Zip lining was great. Horses weren't fit to riders very well. I was glad I had some horse riding experience

This by far was our least impressive tour. The guides didn't communicate. Not a language issue. They just didn't seem interested. The zip lines were ok to boring. Maybe because we zip lined earlier, but they didn't have the excitement, speed or trill. We didn't do the rappelling. That was a little misleading. It was a small wall and we had to climb the wall back up to complete the task. It was discouraged by staff if you didn't think you could climb back up. The staff really discouraged everyone from doing it. It was hot, but not that hot. No one done it when we were near it.
The horse back ride was ok, Riding horses wearing shorts/swinsuits to go raft was less than ideal.
And, due to the drought, the water levels are extremely low and I would not recommend sending any future clients to this event. Those poor guides worked very hard to get all the tubes downstream.
The spa was kind of neat. That was relaxing.
Hopefully this does not sound bad. It just had some weather elements that made this less than ideal.
