Overview

Corcovado National Park Tour is a great way to explore the lush nature in Costa Rica both by boat and on foot. Be prepared to be amazed at the picturesque landscape as you hop on board the vessel and get whisked away to paradise. Your captain and guides will provide lifejackets and safety instructions for your 1.5-hour ride to the Corcovado National Park. With some luck you might get a glimpse or two of Humpback Whales, two different species of dolphins (depending on the season), and maybe even some sea turtles or ocean birds.

When you reach the shore of the Corcovado National Park, strap on your hiking boots and embrace the lush jungle while your guides tell you a bit about the area and interesting facts about the birds, animals, and plants that live there. Past travelers have noted that they have seen scarlet macaws, toucans, howler monkeys, snakes, frogs, coatis, sloths, and more. This is a moderate hike for people in good physical condition.

After the hike, your group will head to San Pedrillo Beach to have lunch. Your guides will provide your group with a delicious, plentiful lunch and bottled water to get you fuelled up for more adventure to come.

It’s a good idea to wear your bathing suit underneath your hiking clothes because you may want to jump in the water at this next part of the journey. If time permits, your guides will take you on a short walk to a beautiful waterfall. Feel free to bring your camera and take some epic photos of the falls. You may wish to jump in the cool crystalline waters and go for a swim.

After visiting the waterfall, your guides will lead you back to the boat for another 1.5-hour ride back to shore with more opportunities for wildlife viewing.

The Corcovado National Park is considered one of the world’s most diverse regions and it is heavily protected to preserve the natural abundance of plant and animal life. It is a real treat to be able to explore a National Park so full of untouched abundance without leaving a heavy footprint.

On this full-day tour, please bring along sunscreen, a hat, a bathing suit, a towel, and good hiking shoes. Transportation to and from Uvita Beach can take up to an hour depending on the lodging location.

IMPORTANT: It is important to consider that if you do not have experience traveling in small boats in the open sea where the boat is constantly moving, you may feel sick and dizzy. This is not the responsibility of the provider and a pill will not prevent you from feeling this way, please take this into consideration before taking the activity as it is your own responsibility.

Great experience - from wildlife hike to waterfall swim to beach picnic. WIsh the day had been longer so we could have taken in more of each activity! While the driver (to/from Uvita) did not speak too much English, he was very helpful with information - even using translator on his phone.
