Day 1![]() Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura. Ramada Herradura is an airport hotel and resort. It also provides one of the largest conference centers in Costa Rica. Hotel amenities include swimming pools, jacuzzis, restaurants, bar, casino, and tropical gardens and Airport Shuttle. While at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura you will enjoy a Superior Room. Superior Rooms feature air conditioning, satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, internet access. |
Day 2![]() Transportation will be provided to the Pacuare River area just outside of Siquirres. During your visit to Siquirres, you will stay at Pacuare Lodge. The Pacuare Lodge is an eco lodge located along the Pacuare River. This is an unique property with which can only be accessed by rafting in or by heavy duty 4x4. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, yoga platform and massage services. |
Day 3![]() Whitewater rafting on the Rio Pacuare. Professional bilingual guides will help navigate you through class III and IV rapids on this thrilling adventure. The Rio Pacuare is a great river for experienced rafters or those in good physical condition. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. No experience necessary on this full day, 11 hour adventure which includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch and equipment. |
Day 4![]() Transportation will be provided to Punta Uva which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica and an amzing coral reef. During your visit to Punta Uva, you will stay at Tree House Lodge. Tree House Lodge is a unique hotel property located at Punta Uva. While at Tree House Lodge you will enjoy a Tree House Room. Tree House feature two split level room, downstairs room is air-conditioned, shared bathroom built in and around the Sangrillo tree, private kitchen and safety box. |
Day 5![]() Sloth Sanctuary and canoeing the Estrella River. The tour starts off by viewing a 12 minute documentary about sloths. You will then have the opportunity to see some of the rescued sloths and learn about ways to protect them. We will then take a 45 minute canoe ride on the Estrella River. When we reach shore we will hike in a private reserve which is home to sloths and other creatures that your guide will be able to point out. At the end of the trail we will enter the sanctuary that houses baby sloths. This 3.5 hour tour includes transportation, entrances, and bilingual guide. |
Day 6![]() Cahuita Snorkeling tour. Snorkeling adventure above a tropical coral reef. The reef offers 35 species of coral, including elkhorn, fan and brain coral. There are also other types of marine life, such as sea urchins, moray eels, turtles, lobsters and sharks. In total, this incredibly important reef houses 128 species of algae, 44 species of crustaceans, 140 species of molluscs and 123 species of fish. For your safety, the snorkeling trail consists of a 400 meter line with white buoys. There is a drop off where can you do some free diving. With a little luck, you may even see a turtle. This 4 hour tour includes transportation, guide, fruit, and bottled water. |
Day 7![]() Indian Reserve, waterfall and chocolate house tour. The tour starts with a walk through the jungle to a waterfall which you will be able to swim under. We will then go to the Bri Bri village, Uatsi to learn about the indigenous people, medicinal plants, and crafts. Next we will go to the House of Chocolate to learn about the process of making cocoa and chocolate from the fruit. This 4 hour tour includes transportation, drinks, fruit, and bilingual guide. |
Day 8![]() Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include heated hot spring pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, conference room, and tropical gardens. While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Junior Suites feature air-conditioning, cable TV, ceiling fan, mini bar stocked with complimentary beverages for two people, telephone, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a terrace area with a view of Arenal Volcano. |
Day 9![]() Canopy Zipline Adventure with Horseback Ride. The Canopy Zipline is a must do for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course starts off with a horseback ride to the cables and offers 8 zips as well as a Tarzan Swing near the base of Arenal Volcano. Participant cannot weigh more than 200 pounds. This half day, 4 hour tour includes transportation and guide. |
Day 10![]() Canyoning and rappelling down rainforest waterfalls. Professional bilingual guides will lead you through a series of 4 rappels down rainforest waterfalls and through a jungle canyon. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. No experience necessary on this half day, 4 hour adventure which includes transportation, back road 4x4 ride, guides, lunch and equipment. |
Day 10![]() Arenal Volcano observation hike at El Silencio Trail. In the afternoon, you will go on an easy level guided hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out different species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at one of the closest safe observation points to the volcano. Arenal is an active volcano and experiences mini eruptions regularly. If the lava is flowing on this side on the day of your visit you will stay here, if not, you will be driven to the lava flow side. Mother Nature permitting, you will be able to see the lava flow. |
Day 11![]() Transportation will be provided to the Papagayo-Hermosa area which is home to beautiful palm studded beaches. During your visit to the Papagayo-Hermosa area, you will stay at Hilton Papagayo Resort and Spa. The Hilton Papagayo Resort and Spa is an all-inclusive tropical retreat located in a secluded, private bay on the Pacific Ocean at the Gulf of Papagayo. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurants, bars, spa, conference room, tennis courts, trails, volleyball courts, and internet. While at Hilton Papagayo Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Tropical Garden Bungalow Room.
