Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort with thermal hot springs surrounded by tropical gardens located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include thermal hot springs, swimming pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, yoga platform and conference room. While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Junior Suites feature air-conditioning, cable TV, ceiling fan, mini bar stocked with complimentary beverages for two people, telephone, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a terrace area with a view of Arenal Volcano. |
Day 2 Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class II and III rapids on the Rio Balsa. This is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. No experience necessary on this half day adventure which includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch, and equipment. |
Day 3 Transportation will be provided to Tambor which is home to palm studded beaches which are excellent for swimming. During your visit to Tambor, you will stay at Tambor Tropical Resort. Tambor Tropical Resort is a unique beach front resort comprised of twelve bungalow suites on Playa Tambor. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, massage service, and internet. While at Tambor Tropical Resort you will enjoy a Lower Suite. Lower Suites feature natural ventilation on the ground floor, bathroom with shower, fully-equipped kitchen, living area, wireless access, with view of the Pacific Ocean. Air conditioning is available upon request. |
Day 4 Cabo Blanco National Park guided tour. Cabo Blanco was the first national park created in Costa Rica. The park is home to 2 species of monkeys, sloths and many other endangered species. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out wildlife such as these and others. Park is closed on Mondays. This half day 3.5 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, and drinks. |
Day 5 The Tortuga Island Boat Ride and Snorkeling adventure is an amazing experience! The tour starts with a scenic cruise along the Gulf of Nicoya for a 50 minute voyage to Tortuga Island. Dolphins, manta rays or humpback whales are just a few examples of the marine life frequently viewed along the way to the island. Upon arriving to the tropical paradise of Tortuga Island you will anchor for your first snorkeling session. This area is surrounded by volcanic rocks, crystal waters and vibrant tropical coral reefs which is home some of the best snorkeling on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast. After snorkeling, you will continue to the white sand beach of Tortuga Island. Kayak rentals and additional snorkeling available. This fun filled full day excursion includes transportation, guide, snorkeling equipment, drinks, and meal. |
Day 6 Transportation will be provided to Escazu. During your visit to Escazu, you will stay at Hotel Beacon Escazu. Hotel Beacon Escazu is a luxurious, yet comfortable boutique style hotel located in Escazu. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, swimming pool, spa, fitness center, concierge service, and internet. While at Hotel Beacon Escazu you will enjoy a Deluxe Room. Deluxe Rooms feature air-conditioned, flat-screen Satellite TV, in-room safe, work desk, iHome clock-radio with iPod dock station, telephone, wireless-internet connection, iron and ironing board, mini bar and hair dryer. Includes continental breakfast. |
Day 7 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
