Day 1![]() Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Hotel La Fortuna. Hotel La Fortuna is an affordable hotel conveniently located near the shops, restaurants and night life of downtown La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include internet access, restaurant and bar. While at Hotel La Fortuna you will enjoy a Volcano View Room. Standard Rooms with Volcano View feature air conditioning, cable TV, hair dryer, and of course a volcano view. |
Day 2![]() The Arenal Volcano Natural History and Hot Springs tour is a great way to learn about the volcano and observe wildlife before relaxing in thermal hot springs! The tour starts in the afternoon at the El Silencio Trail, where you will go on an easy hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out various species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at a mirador with excellent views to the volcano. |
Day 3![]() Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class II and III rapids on the Rio Balsa. This is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. No experience necessary on this half day adventure which includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch, and equipment. |
Day 4![]() Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Trapp Family Lodge. Trapp Family Lodge is the closest eco-lodge to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, and internet. While at Trapp Family Lodge you will enjoy a Superior Room. Superior rooms feature cable TV, telephone, hair dryer and view of the cloud forest. |
Day 5![]() Canopy Combo is an awesome way to explore the cloud forest. The day starts off with a Canopy Zipline adventure, which is a MUST DO for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course offers 16 zips up to 600 meters and 80 meters high as you soar through the air from platform to platform via wheel and harness for a birds eye view of the rainforest. To top it all off, you can also do a rappel and Tarzan swing. This fun filled half day adventure includes transportation and guides. The hanging bridges offer an amazing glimpse into the canopy of the cloud forest. The hike includes terrestrial trails and bridges through the tree tops allowing you to view the forest from all perspectives. While at Hotel Verde Mar you will enjoy a Standard Room. Day 9![]() Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
