Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to Liberia International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to Rincon de la Vieja which is one of Costa Rica?s active volcanoes and an adventure capital. During your visit to Rincon de la Vieja, you will stay at Hacienda Guachipelin. Hacienda Guachipelin is an amazing eco-lodge and adventure ranch with hot spring fed pools located in the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and national park region. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, spa, restaurant, bar, and internet. While at Hacienda Guachipelin you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air-conditioning or fan, in-room safe. |
Day 2 Hike to the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano crater. This is an 8 kilometer hike to the volcanic crater and green Jilguero Lagoon. The hike takes you all the way to 1800 meters in elevation. Participants should be in good physical condition for this medium level difficulty hike. Park is closed on Mondays. The tour duration depends on the speed of the climber, but usually averages around 8 hours. This is a guided tour, but does not include park entrance fee of 10 US dollars per person. |
Day 3 Hacienda Guachipelin Day Pass. This is a full day adventure pass which allows you to choose from 2 of the following main activities - Canyon Canopy tour, Waterfall Canyoning, Rio Negro Tubing, thermal waters, hot springs, horseback riding, cowboy for a day, walking tours in the park, including a buffet lunch in the restaurant. After a full day of adventure you will be able to visit the Symbiosis Spa for volcanic mud painting and hot springs. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. Tours that include the national park do not include 10 dollar entrance fee. Participants must be 10 years or older for tubing and canyoning. Tours include guide and lunch. |
Day 4 Transportation will be provided to Tamarindo which is home to beautiful palm studded beaches which are within walking distance to shops, restaurants and night life. During your visit to Tamarindo, you will stay at Hotel Arco Iris. Hotel Arco Iris is a unique hotel specializing in personalized service and conveniently located within walking distance to the Tamarindo town center and beach area. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, tropical gardens, and internet. While at Hotel Arco Iris you will enjoy a Bungalow Room. Bungalows feature air-conditioning, ceiling fan, hair dryer, cable TV, wireless-internet access, in-room safe, refrigerator, mini bar, and a private patio. |
Day 5 Beach day at Playa Tamarindo. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 6 Surf Lesson. A professional instructor will show you the ropes as you learn how to surf in the warm tropical waters of Tamarindo. This fun filled half day adventure includes transportation, guide, and board. |
Day 7 Costa Rica is well known for awesome trails and roads that could be compared to tracks, so why not go with the flow on a high speed four wheel adventure! This thrilling offroad adventure will take you through the back roads and trails of the forest, farmlands and whatever else is in the way. This fun filled adventure includes transportation, guide, trail entrances, and meal. |
Day 8 Another Playa Tamarindo beach day. You can sit back, relax, and perfect that tropical tan, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 9 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to Liberia International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
