Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to Puerto Viejo which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica. During your visit to Puerto Viejo, you will stay at Hotel Cariblue. Hotel Cariblue is a unique Caribbean bungalow style hotel located in Puerto Viejo. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, tropical gardens, and internet. While at Hotel Cariblue you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Bungalows feature palm-thatched roof and a porch with hammock or bamboo chairs. |
Day 2 Beach day at Puerto Viejo. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Caribbean coast. |
Day 3 Cahuita National Park and Snorkeling combo is an great way to enjoy both wildlife in the jungle and marine life in ocean. In the morning a bilingual guide will lead you through the rain forest where you will see many species of wildlife, flora and fauna, such as monkeys, sloths, iguanas, Morphos butterflies, birds, snakes and much. The afternoon continues with an awesome snorkeling adventure. Swim above rock and coral formations along the Cahuita coastline and observe the wondrous marine life below. This fun filled half day adventure which includes transportation, bilingual certified guide, equipment and lunch. |
Day 4 Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort with thermal hot springs surrounded by tropical gardens located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include thermal hot springs, swimming pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, yoga platform and conference room. While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Junior Suites feature air-conditioning, cable TV, ceiling fan, mini bar stocked with complimentary beverages for two people, telephone, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a terrace area with a view of Arenal Volcano. |
Day 5 The Hanging Bridges offer an amazing glimpse into the canopy of the rainforest! The hike includes terrestrial trails and bridges through the tree tops allowing you to view the forest from all perspectives. This fun filled half day tour includes guides, transportation, and entrance to the private reserve. |
Day 6 Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class II and III rapids on the Rio Balsa. This is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. No experience necessary on this half day adventure which includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch, and equipment. |
Day 7 There is no better way to travel to your next destination than our famous Land-Boat-Land transportation to Monteverde! The adventure begins as you board a boat and cross the lake which provides some of the best photo ops of the imposing volcano. When you reach the other side, transportation will be provided through scenic mountain roads as you wind your way up to the cloud forest until you reach Monteverde. |
Day 7 Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Hotel Ficus. Ficus Hotel is an eco-friendly hotel located near Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The hotel is known for great service and is conveniently close to the Santa Elena village center. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar and internet. While at Hotel Ficus you will enjoy a Deluxe Room. Deluxe Rooms feature cable TV, in-room safe, telephone, bathtub, minibar, coffee maker, and a balcony. |
Day 8 The Canopy Zipline is a MUST DO for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course offers 16 zips up to 600 meters and 80 meters high as you soar through the air from platform to platform via wheel and harness for a birds eye view of the rainforest. To top it all off, you can also do a rappel and Tarzan swing. This fun filled half day adventure includes transportation and guides. |
Day 9 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
