Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. During your visit to , you will stay at Volcan Turrialba Lodge. Volcan Turrialba Lodge is a truly Costa Rican eco-lodge located between Irazu and Turrialba volcanoes. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and wireless internet. While at Volcan Turrialba Lodge you will enjoy a Cabin Room. Cabins feature comfortable basic, yet comfortable accommodations with private bathroom. |
Day 2 Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class II and III rapids on the Rio Pejibaye. This is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. This fun filled adventure includes transportation, specialized equipment and bilingual tour guide. |
Day 3 Free day to explore Turrialba. This is a fun little tourist geared town with shops, restaurants, and activities. Go explore the rainforest, volcano, lake, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 4 Transportation will be provided to San Gerardo de Dota which is a birdwatchers paradise located in the central cloud forests. During your visit to San Gerardo de Dota, you will stay at Trogon Lodge. The Trogon Lodge is an Eco-lodge and bird watchers paradise located in the cloud forest area of San Gerardo de Dota. Hotel amenities include trout pond, restaurant, bar, nature trails, conference room, and internet. While at Trogon Lodge you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature a heating system and views of the river Savegre or forest. |
Day 5 The Canopy Zipline is a MUST DO for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica! This thrilling high speed, high flying course is a great way to soar through the air from platform to platform via wheel and harness for a bird’s eye view of the cloud forest. This fun filled half day adventure includes guide. No transportation is needed from Trogon Lodge. Transportation is not included from other area hotels. |
Day 6 Early Morning Birdwatching tour. This tour is great for any birdwatcher and particulary those seeking Resplendent Quetzals as this is one of the few areas in the world that has the right features to harbor Quetzals year round. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, we should be able to spot many species of birds. The tour lasts 2 hours and includes guide. No transportation is needed from Trogon Lodge. Transportation is not included from other area hotels. |
Day 7 Transportation will be provided to Dominical which is home to some of the most beautiful palm studded surf beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the surrounding mountains. During your visit to Dominical, you will stay at Hacienda Baru. Hacienda Baru is an amazing eco-lodge and wildlife refuge located just north of Dominical. This unique property is a birdwatcher and adventurers paradise with miles of trails, secluded beaches, and adventure activities galore. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and internet. While at Hacienda Baru you will enjoy a Superior Room. Superior Rooms feature naturally-ventilation, a bathroom with hot water shower, in-room safe, and a front porch with a view of the rainforest. |
Day 8 Crocodile Night Safari. This is an evening tour on the Rio Terraba and mangroves. Your bilingual naturalist guide will point out and teach you about the crocodiles and other nocturnal creatures that inhabit this natural wonder. This 4.5 hour tour includes transportation, guide, sandwiches, and drinks. |
Day 9 Beach day at Playa Dominical. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 10 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
