Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to the Manuel Antonio area which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the national park. During your visit to Manuel Antonio, you will stay at The Falls Resort. The Falls Resort is a boutique style Manuel Antonio hotel surrounded by tropical gardens located along the hillside resort area. The hotel is well known for excellent customer service and the wildlife that passes through. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, internet, and tropical gardens. While at The Falls Resort you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, cable TV with DVD, mini bar, and ceiling fan, and a furnished patio with garden view. |
Day 2 Horseback Ride to Tocori Waterfalls. Saddle up for a horseback ride like a true Costa Rican. Though slowly fading, nearly all Costa Ricans from rural areas first learned how to drive on horseback. This adventure will help keep the traditional spirit alive as you ride to the beautiful Tocori Waterfalls where you will be able to swim in the natural pool. This fun filled half day expedition includes transportation, bilingual guide, and lunch. |
Day 3 Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Hotel Poco a Poco. Hotel Poco a Poco is a comfortable boutique style hotel located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, heated swimming pool, spa, gym, and internet. While at Hotel Poco a Poco you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature comfortable orthopedic beds, hair dryer, telephone, coffee maker, cable TV with DVD, and in-room safe. |
Day 4 The Canopy Zipline is a MUST DO for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course offers 16 zips up to 600 meters and 80 meters high as you soar through the air from platform to platform via wheel and harness for a birds eye view of the rainforest. To top it all off, you can also do a rappel and Tarzan swing. This fun filled half day adventure includes transportation and guides. |
Day 5 There is no better way to travel to your next destination than our famous Land-Boat-Land transportation to La Fortuna! The adventure begins by driving through scenic mountain roads until you reach Lake Arenal. You will then board a boat and cross the lake by boat which provides some of the best photo ops of the imposing volcano. When you reach the other side, transportation will be provided to your accommodations. This fun filled half day adventure includes transportation, life jacket, and guide. |
Day 5 Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort with thermal hot springs surrounded by tropical gardens located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include thermal hot springs, swimming pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, yoga platform and conference room. While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Day 6 Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class II and III rapids on the Rio Balsa. This is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. This fun filled half day adventure includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch and equipment. |
Day 7 The Rio Celeste Waterfall is one of the most beautiful in the world! The day starts with a moderate hike through Tenorio National Park on semi groomed trails. When you hear the roar of the falls, look down into the valley and you will see the magnificent turquoise blue colored Rio Celeste waterfalls and river. The hike down is difficult, but well worth it! Following the falls, you will have the opportunity to visit the lagoon and if there is time, the natural hot springs. This fun filled full day adventure includes transportation, bilingual naturalist guide, park entrance fee, and lunch. |
Day 8 Transportation will be provided to Tortuguero which is home to numerous species of wildlife and a primary nesting area for Atlantic Green Sea Turtles from July through October. During your visit to Tortuguero, you will stay at Turtle Beach Lodge. Turtle Beach Lodge is a comfortable eco-lodge located between the beach area and the Tortuguero Canals. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, nature trails, and internet. While at Turtle Beach Lodge you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms are naturally-ventilated featuring private bathroom with hot water, and garden view. |
Day 8 Tortuguero Town Tour. Tortuguero is a typical Caribbean coastal fishing village. Your guide will walk you through the town and explain how the villagers live and about their unique culture. This 1 hour tour includes bilingual guide. |
Day 9 Tortuguero Canal Tour. This tour is a riverboat ride through the Tortuguero Canals, which are located within the national park. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual guide will point out animals, flora, and fauna that live within this unique eco-system. The Tortuguero Canals are home to many species of wildlife including, but not limited to three species of monkeys, two species of sloths, crocodiles, caimans, various species of amphibians and reptiles, and hundreds of bird species. This tour lasts 2 - 3 hours and includes a bilingual naturalist guide. |
Day 9 Tortuguero Guided Hike. This is a guided hike through the rainforest with a bilingual naturalist guide. The hike is typically performed on the grounds of the hotel which is located within the national park. It is common to see monkeys, sloths, dart frogs, and many of bird species. This 2 -3 hour tour includes bilingual naturalist guide. |
Day 10 Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura. Hotel Ramada Herradura is a comfortable, newly remodeled airport hotel and resort. The hotel is well known for great customer service and tropical setting. Hotel amenities include large free form swimming pools with islands, jacuzzis, theme restaurants, spa, beauty center, bar, casino, and tropical gardens. While at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura you will enjoy a Superior Room. Superior Rooms feature air conditioning, satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, internet access. |
Day 11 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
