Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to Liberia International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to Arenal Volcano, you will stay at Arenal Lodge. Arenal Lodge is an eco-tourist paradise located on a 2000 acre private reserve with spectacular view to Arenal Volcano. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, internet access, restaurant, bar, tropical gardens, and nature trails. While at Arenal Lodge you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature coffee maker, cable TV, telephone, alarm clock, in-room safe and hair dryer. |
Day 3 Whitewater rafting on the Rio Balsa. Professional bilingual guides will help navigate you through class II and III rapids on this thrilling adventure. The Rio Balsa is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. No experience necessary on this half day adventure which includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch and equipment. |
Day 4 Arenal Volcano observation hike at El Silencio Trail. In the afternoon, you will go on an easy level guided hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out different species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at one of the closest safe observation points to the volcano. |
Day 5 Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Hotel Poco a Poco. Hotel Poco a Poco is a comfortable boutique style hotel located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, heated swimming pool, spa, gym, and internet. While at Hotel Poco a Poco you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature comfortable orthopedic beds, hair dryer, telephone, coffee maker, cable TV with DVD, and in-room safe. |
Day 6 Sky Tram and Trek Canopy Zipline. This adventure starts off by taking a gondola style cable car some 1600 meters up through the cloud forest canopy to a hilltop near the Continental Divide. You then go through a safety course and you are on your way zipping down 9 cables with platforms in between towards the bottom of the hill. The longest cable is 770 meters and highest is 130 meters off the ground. |
Day 6 Transportation will be provided to Rincon de la Vieja which is one of Costa Rica?s active volcanoes and an adventure capital. During your visit to Rincon de la Vieja, you will stay at Hacienda Guachipelin. Hacienda Guachipelin is an Eco-lodge and adventure ranch with hot spring fed pools located in the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and national park region. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, spa, restaurant, bar, and internet. While at Hacienda Guachipelin you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air-conditioning or fan, in-room safe. |
Day 7 Hacienda Guachipelin Day Pass. This is a full day adventure pass which allows you to choose from 2 of the following main activities - Canyon Canopy tour, Waterfall Canyoning, Rio Negro Tubing, thermal waters, hot springs, horseback riding, cowboy for a day, walking tours in the park, including a buffet lunch in the restaurant. After a full day of adventure you will be able to visit the Symbiosis Spa for volcanic mud painting and hot springs. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. Tours that include the national park do not include 10 dollar entrance fee. Participants must be 10 years or older for tubing and canyoning. Tours include guide and lunch. |
Day 8 Transportation will be provided to the Flamingo-Conchal area which is home to beautiful palm studded beaches. During your visit to the Flamingo-Conchal area, you will stay at Flamingo Beach Resort. Flamingo Beach Resort is a beach front hotel located on the pristine golden sands of Playa Flamingo. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, spa, casino, fitness center, family center, beauty salon, tennis courts, resort activities, conference room, and internet. While at Flamingo Beach Resort you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, flat-screen Satellite TV, high-speed internet, clock radio, telephone, ceiling fan, in-room safe, coffee maker, and a hair dryer. Some rooms feature private balcony with garden view. |
Day 9 Snorkeling tour. There are many islands off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica that are ideal for snorkeling and diving. On this tour you will accompany divers and snorkel off of tropical islands. This 3 hour tour includes transportation, guide, and snorkeling gear. |
Day 10 Beach day at Playa Flamingo. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 11 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to Liberia International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
