Day 1![]() Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Hotel Poco a Poco. Hotel Poco a Poco is a comfortable boutique style hotel located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, heated swimming pool, spa, gym, and internet. While at Hotel Poco a Poco you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature comfortable orthopedic beds, hair dryer, telephone, coffee maker, cable TV with DVD, and in-room safe. |
Day 2![]() Combination canopy tour with ziplines and hanging bridges at Aventuras Monteverde. The Canopy Zipline is a must do for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course offers 16 zips up to 600 meters and 80 meters high, 1 rappel, and a Tarzan swing. |
Day 3![]() Don Juan coffee plantation tour. A bilingual guide will lead you through the famous coffee farm, showing the process from plant to cup. This is an opportunity to immerse in a Costa Rican tradition. You will also be able to purchase coffee direct from the Don Juan plantation. This 3 hour tour includes transportation, snack, and coffee sample. |
Day 4![]() Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Volcano Lodge. Volcano Lodge is located in a privileged location with a direct view of Arenal Volcano. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, internet access, restaurant, bar, tropical gardens, nature trails, playground, and spa. While at Volcano Lodge you will enjoy a Superior Room. Superior Rooms feature air conditioning, cable TV, hairdryer, in-room safe, telephone, coffee maker, and a terrace facing the volcano. |
Day 5![]() Canoe on the Rio Frio and to the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is located near the Nicaragua border and is one of the best places in Costa Rica to observe many species of wildlife in a natural setting. No experience necessary, the guides will be with you the whole way. Visitors must bring their passport for this trip. This full day, 8 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual naturalist guide, and lunch. |
Day 6![]() Arenal Volcano observation hike at El Silencio Trail. In the afternoon, you will go on an easy level guided hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out different species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at one of the closest safe observation points to the volcano. |
Day 7![]() Transportation will be provided to the Sarapiqui area which is a bird watchers paradise located in the northern plains. During your visit to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, you will stay at Sarapiquis Rainforest Lodge. Sarapiquis Rainforest Lodge is a rainforest eco-lodge, archaeological site, and reserve located in the Sarapiqui region. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, conference room, nature trails, museum, botanical gardens and internet. While at Sarapiquis Rainforest Lodge you will enjoy a Standard Double Room. Standard room features private bathroom, homemade furniture, pre-Columbian figures, ceiling fans, telephone, television and covered terrace with great views. |
Day 8![]() Transportation will be provided to Puerto Viejo which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica. During your visit to Puerto Viejo, you will stay at Hotel Banana Azul. Hotel Banana Azul is a Caribbean style beach hotel located directly on the beach at Puerto Viejo. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, and internet. While at Hotel Banana Azul you will enjoy a Ocean Room. Ocean Room feature top floor, naturally-vented rooms with hardwood furniture, ocean view deck with hammock. |
Day 9![]() Cahuita National Park and Snorkeling combo tour. In the morning a bilingual guide will lead you through the diversity of the rain forest where you will see many different species of wildlife, flora and fauna, such as monkeys, sloths, iguanas, spiders, Morphos butterflies, birds, snakes and much more. |
Day 10![]() Native fishing tour. This is a tour with local fisherman on a small fishing boat, using their techniques. No fancy rods and reels, just good old fashioned Caribbean style fishing with bait for species such as Tarpon, Barracuda, Shark, Grouper, Blue and Green Jack, Red Snapper, Mackerel, and King Fish. This 5 hour tour includes transportation, guide, fishing gear, bottle of water. |
Day 11![]() Surf day at Puerto Viejo. Surfs up and stress is down. Today you will have a day on your own to hang 10 and walk on water. |

Day 13![]() Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
