Day 1![]() Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Hotel Grano de Oro. Hotel Grano de Oro is a luxury oriented boutique hotel which specializes in personalized service located in San Jose. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, jacuzzi, roof top terrace and gardens, massage service, and internet. While at Hotel Grano de Oro you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature in-room Jacuzzi, Internet access, mini bar, in-room safe, cable TV, ceiling fans, telephone. |
Day 2![]() Paos Volcano, Doka, La Paz Waterfall Gardens. On the way to Paos Volcano, we will visit Doka Coffee Estate for breakfast and tour to learn the techniques and process in the cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the Golden Bean. At the Volcano, we will observe the massive main crater with sulfur fumaroles and learn about the variety of ecosystems in the park. We will continue to La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and follow the trail leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. This 10 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, entrance fee to Poas Volcano National Park, entrance fee to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, entrance fee to Coffee Tour, breakfast, and lunch. |
Day 3![]() Transportation will be provided to Tortuguero which is home to numerous species of wildlife and a primary nesting area for Atlantic Green Sea Turtles from July through October. During your visit to Tortuguero, you will stay at Turtle Beach Lodge. Turtle Beach Lodge is a comfortable eco-lodge located between the beach area and the Tortuguero Canals. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, nature trails, and internet. While at Turtle Beach Lodge you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms are naturally-ventilated featuring private bathroom with hot water, and garden view. |
Day 4![]() Tortuguero Canal Tour. This tour is a riverboat ride through the Tortuguero Canals, which are located within the national park. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual guide will point out animals, flora, and fauna that live within this unique eco-system. The Tortuguero Canals are home to many species of wildlife including, but not limited to three species of monkeys, two species of sloths, crocodiles, caimans, various species of amphibians and reptiles, and hundreds of bird species. This tour lasts 2 - 3 hours and includes a bilingual naturalist guide. |
Day 5![]() Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Nayara Hotel and Gardens. The 4 star Arenal Nayara Hotel and Gardens is located in front of Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, and tropical gardens. While at Arenal Nayara Hotel and Gardens you will enjoy a Casita Deluxe Room. Deluxe Casitas feature air conditioning, cable TV, DVD, CD player, internet access, in-room safe with small-laptop capacity, backyard outside shower, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, and a front balcony with Jacuzzi overlooking the volcano. |
Day 6![]() Arenal Volcano observation hike at El Silencio Trail. In the afternoon, you will go on an easy level guided hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out different species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at one of the closest safe observation points to the volcano. |
Day 7![]() Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Hidden Canopy Treehouses Boutique Hotel. Hidden Canopy Treehouse Boutique Hotel is a luxury bed and breakfast located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Amenities include guest lounge and bar area, take one, leave one library books, portable DVD players, movie collection, assorted board games, and cards. While at Hidden Canopy Treehouses Boutique Hotel you will enjoy a Rising Sun Room. The Rising Sun Treehouse Chalet features a private bath with a stone-waterfall shower, a sitting area, mini bar, coffee bar, in-room safe, hairdryer, and hanging-basket chair with forest view. |
Day 8![]() Aventuras Monteverde hanging bridges guided nature walk. This is a moderate level guided hike that will give you a birds eye view of the cloud forest canopy. This 3 hour tour includes guide, transportation, and entrance to the private reserve. |
Day 9![]() Transportation will be provided to the Manuel Antonio area which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the national park. During your visit to Manuel Antonio, you will stay at Si Como No Resort. Si Como No Resort is a boutique style Manuel Antonio eco-resort located along the hillside resort area. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, internet, movie theater, nature trails, spa, and tropical gardens. While at Si Como No Resort you will enjoy a Jungle-view Room. Jungle-view Rooms feature air conditioning, wet bar, stocked mini-bar, ceiling fans, telephone and in-room safe. |
Day 10![]() Manuel Antonio National Park guided tour. Though this is the smallest national park in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio is one of the largest in terms on biodiversity. The park is home to 3 species of monkeys, 2 types of sloths and many other endangered species. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out wildlife such as these and others. Park is closed on Mondays. This half day 3.5 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, and fruits. |
Day 11![]() Beach day at Manuel Antonio. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 12![]() Another Manuel Antonio beach day. You can sit back, relax, and perfect that tropical tan, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 13![]() Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
