Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge. Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge is an eco-lodge located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, nature trails, and internet. While at Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge you will enjoy a Standard Room. Rooms feature private bath, hot water, patio with cloud forest and garden view. |
Day 2 Don Juan coffee plantation tour. A bilingual guide will lead you through the famous coffee farm, showing the process from plant to cup. This is an opportunity to immerse in a Costa Rican tradition. You will also be able to purchase coffee direct from the Don Juan plantation. This 3 hour tour includes transportation, snack, and coffee sample. |
Day 3 Free day to explore Monteverde. This is a fun little tourist geared town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities. Go explore the cloud forest, town, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 4 Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Hotel La Fortuna. Hotel La Fortuna is an affordable hotel conveniently located near the shops, restaurants and night life of downtown La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include internet access, restaurant and bar. While at Hotel La Fortuna you will enjoy a Volcano View Room. Standard Rooms with Volcano View feature air conditioning, cable TV, hair dryer, and of course a volcano view. |
Day 5 The Canopy Zipline is a MUST DO for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course starts off with a horseback ride and then you go through a series of 8 zips as you soar through the air from platform to platform via wheel and harness for a birds eye view of the rainforest. To top it all off you will also do a Tarzan Swing. This fun filled half day adventure includes transportation and guide. |
Day 6 The Arenal Volcano Natural History and Hot Springs tour is a great way to learn about the volcano and observe wildlife before relaxing in thermal hot springs! The tour starts in the afternoon at the El Silencio Trail, where you will go on an easy hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out various species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at a mirador with excellent views to the volcano. |
Day 7 Free day to explore La Fortuna. This is a fun little tourist geared town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities. Go explore the rainforest, volcano, lake, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 8 Simply put, there is no better way to break up the drive to your next destination! Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class III and IV rapids on the Rio Pacuare. This is a great river for experienced rafters or those in good physical condition. This fun filled full day adventure includes transportation, guides, safety kayaker, lunch and equipment. |
Day 9 Transportation will be provided to Puerto Viejo which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica. During your visit to Puerto Viejo, you will stay at Hotel Banana Azul. Hotel Banana Azul is a Caribbean style beach hotel located directly on the beach at Puerto Viejo. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, and internet. While at Hotel Banana Azul you will enjoy a Ocean Room. Ocean Room feature top floor, naturally-vented rooms with hardwood furniture, ocean view deck with hammock. |
Day 10 Cahuita National Park and Snorkeling combo is a great way to enjoy both wildlife in the jungle and marine life in ocean. In the morning a bilingual guide will lead you through the rain forest where you will see many species of wildlife, flora and fauna, such as monkeys, sloths, iguanas, Morphos butterflies, birds, snakes and much. The afternoon continues with an awesome snorkeling adventure. Swim above rock and coral formations along the Cahuita coastline and observe the wondrous marine life below. This fun filled half day adventure which includes transportation, bilingual certified guide, equipment and lunch. |
Day 11 Beach day at Puerto Viejo. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Caribbean coast. |
Day 12 Another Puerto Viejo beach day. You can sit back, relax, and perfect that tropical tan, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 13 Surf day at Puerto Viejo. Surfs up and stress is down. Today you will have a day on your own to hang 10 and walk on water. |
Day 14 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
