Day 1![]() Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include heated hot spring pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, conference room, and tropical gardens. While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Junior Suites feature air-conditioning, cable TV, ceiling fan, mini bar stocked with complimentary beverages for two people, telephone, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a terrace area with a view of Arenal Volcano. |
Day 2![]() Arenal Volcano observation hike at El Silencio Trail. In the afternoon, you will go on an easy level guided hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out different species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at one of the closest safe observation points to the volcano. Following the hike you will be brought to Baldi Hot Springs to relax and bathe in your choice of 22 hot spring pools which are surrounded by tropical gardens and regulated at various temperatures. |
Day 3![]() Riverboat ride at the Rio Frio and to the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is located near the Nicaragua border and is one of the best places in Costa Rica to observe many species of wildlife in a natural setting. The riverboat is large and has a roof to block the sun or rain. Visitors must bring their passport for this trip. This full day, 8 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual naturalist guide, and lunch. |
Day 4![]() Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Hotel Poco a Poco. Hotel Poco a Poco is a comfortable boutique style hotel located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, heated swimming pool, spa, gym, and internet. While at Hotel Poco a Poco you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature comfortable orthopedic beds, hair dryer, telephone, coffee maker, cable TV with DVD, and in-room safe. |
Day 5![]() Canopy Zipline adventure on the Aventuras Canopy course. The Canopy Zipline is a must do for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course offers 16 zips up to 600 meters and 80 meters high, 1 rappel, and a Tarzan swing. This 4 hour tour includes transportation, and guide. |
Day 6![]() Horseback ride through the cloud forest. This is a guided ride through private trails and public roads that are rarely used. Participants can not weigh more than 200 pounds. This 4 hour tour includes transportation and guide. |
Day 7![]() Rappelling down cloud forest waterfalls and canyoning. This is the ultimate jungle experience. The tour starts off with a brief safety course, then you will rappel down 6 waterfalls with the largest being 40 meters in height. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. No experience necessary for this half day, 4 hour tour which includes transportation, guide, and equipment. |
Day 8![]() Transportation will be provided to the Manuel Antonio area which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the national park. During your visit to Manuel Antonio, you will stay at The Falls Resort. The Falls Resort is a boutique style Manuel Antonio hotel located along the hillside resort area. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, internet, and tropical gardens. While at The Falls Resort you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, cable TV with DVD, mini bar, and ceiling fan, and a furnished patio with garden view. |
Day 9![]() Offroad ATV adventure on a four wheeler. As the name implies, this is a thrilling offroad adventure on four wheeled ATVs. This adventure will take you through trails near the coast at high speeds. Drivers must be at least 16 years old, or ride double with guide or parent. This 4 hour tour includes transportation, guide, trail entrances, and meal. |
Day 10![]() Manuel Antonio National Park guided tour. Though this is the smallest national park in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio is one of the largest in terms on biodiversity. The park is home to 3 species of monkeys, 2 types of sloths and many other endangered species. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out wildlife such as these and others. Park is closed on Mondays. This half day 3.5 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, and fruits. |
Day 11![]() Beach day at Manuel Antonio. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 12![]() Transportation will be provided to Dominical which is home to some of the most beautiful palm studded surf beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the surrounding mountains. During your visit to Dominical, you will stay at Hotel Villas Rio Mar. Hotel Villas Rio Mar is a 3 star bungalow style resort located in the jungles of Dominical. Some of Costa Rica's most beautiful deserted beaches are located within minutes of this property. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, spa, tennis courts, and internet. While at Hotel Villas Rio Mar you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Room Bungalows feature refrigerator, ceiling fans, telephone, and a terrace-like living room with hammock. |
Day 13![]() Tree Climbing in Hacienda Baru National Wildlife Refuge. A professional guide will accompany you on a thrilling tree climb into the canopy of the rainforest. No experience necessary, though participants should be in fairly good physical condition. After a safety briefing, your guide will assist you the entire way up some 35 meters. This 2.5 hour tour includes guide. No transportation is needed from Hacienda Baru. Transportation is not included from other area hotels. |
Day 14![]() Beach day at Playa Dominical. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 15![]() Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
