Day 1

Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura

Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city.

During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura. Ramada Herradura is an airport hotel and resort. It also provides one of the largest conference centers in Costa Rica. Hotel amenities include swimming pools, jacuzzis, restaurants, bar, casino, and tropical gardens and Airport Shuttle.

While at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura you will enjoy a Superior Room. Superior Rooms feature air conditioning, satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, internet access.

Day 2

Laguna Lodge

Transportation will be provided to Tortuguero which is home to numerous species of wildlife and a primary nesting area for Atlantic Green Sea Turtles from July through October.

During your visit to Tortuguero, you will stay at Laguna Lodge. Laguna Lodge is a comfortable eco-resort located on the Tortuguero Canals. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, conference room, nature trails, and internet.

While at Laguna Lodge you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms are naturally-ventilated featuring comfortable beds, a private bath, ceiling fan, reading lamps, in-room safe, and a walkway in front.

Day 3

Tortuguero Canal Tour

Tortuguero Canal Tour. This tour is a riverboat ride through the Tortuguero Canals, which are located within the national park. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual guide will point out animals, flora, and fauna that live within this unique eco-system. The Tortuguero Canals are home to many species of wildlife including, but not limited to three species of monkeys, two species of sloths, crocodiles, caimans, various species of amphibians and reptiles, and hundreds of bird species. This tour lasts 2 - 3 hours and includes a bilingual naturalist guide.

Day 4

Arenal Springs Resort and Spa

Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital.

During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include heated hot spring pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, conference room, and tropical gardens.

While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Junior Suites feature air-conditioning, cable TV, ceiling fan, mini bar stocked with complimentary beverages for two people, telephone, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a terrace area with a view of Arenal Volcano.

Day 5

Arenal Volcano Observation Hike and Tabacon Hot Springs

Arenal Volcano observation hike at El Silencio Trail. In the afternoon, you will go on an easy level guided hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out different species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at one of the closest safe observation points to the volcano.

Following the hike you will be brought to the Tabacon Hot Springs to relax and bathe in hot spring fed pools and streams which are surrounded by tropical gardens.

This 6 hour tour includes guide, transportation, dinner, entrance to the private reserve and hot springs.

Day 6

Cano Negro Riverboat Safari

Riverboat ride at the Rio Frio and to the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is located near the Nicaragua border and is one of the best places in Costa Rica to observe many species of wildlife in a natural setting. The riverboat is large and has a roof to block the sun or rain. Visitors must bring their passport for this trip. This full day, 8 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual naturalist guide, and lunch.

Day 7

Arenal Hanging Bridges

Arenal Hanging Bridges guided nature walk. This is a moderate level guided hike with some inclines that will give you a birds eye view of the rainforest canopy. This half day, 4 hour tour includes guide, transportation, and entrance to the private reserve.

Day 8

Hotel Poco a Poco

Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide.

During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Hotel Poco a Poco. Hotel Poco a Poco is a comfortable boutique style hotel located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, heated swimming pool, spa, gym, and internet.

While at Hotel Poco a Poco you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature comfortable orthopedic beds, hair dryer, telephone, coffee maker, cable TV with DVD, and in-room safe.

Day 9

Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve tour. This is an easy walk through the famous cloud forest which is located at an elevation of 1,350 meters. The cloud forest is an amazing place where one will view life on top of life and many endangered and endemic species. After the hike you will be able to visit the Hummingbird Gallery. This 4 hour tour includes transportation, park entrance, and guide.

Day 10

Aventuras Canopy Zipline Tour

Canopy Zipline adventure on the Aventuras Canopy course. The Canopy Zipline is a must do for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course offers 16 zips up to 600 meters and 80 meters high, 1 rappel, and a Tarzan swing. This 4 hour tour includes transportation, and guide.

Day 11

The Falls Resort

Transportation will be provided to the Manuel Antonio area which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the national park.

During your visit to Manuel Antonio, you will stay at The Falls Resort. The Falls Resort is a boutique style Manuel Antonio hotel located along the hillside resort area. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, internet, and tropical gardens.

While at The Falls Resort you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, cable TV with DVD, mini bar, and ceiling fan, and a furnished patio with garden view.

Day 12

Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park guided tour. Though this is the smallest national park in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio is one of the largest in terms on biodiversity. The park is home to 3 species of monkeys, 2 types of sloths and many other endangered species. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out wildlife such as these and others. Park is closed on Mondays. This half day 3.5 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, and fruits.

Day 13

Damas Island Kayaking Safari

Damas Island mangrove kayaking. The Damas Island mangroves are loaded with wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, anteaters and many other species. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out wildlife such as these and others as you drift through on your open top kayak. This 5 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, and meal.

Day 14

Horseback Ride to Tocori Waterfalls

Horseback ride to Tocori Waterfalls. This is a guided ride through the jungle with a bilingual guide. After approximately an hour, you will leave your horse on the trail and walk with the guide to the waterfalls where you will be able to swim in the natural pool. Following your swim, you will ride on to the rancho area to eat a typical Costa Rican casada for lunch. Participants can not weigh more than 200 pounds. This half day 4 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, and lunch.

Day 15

Free Day - Beach Day Manuel Antonio

Beach day at Manuel Antonio. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast.

Day 16

Free Day - Another Beach Day Manuel Antonio

Another Manuel Antonio beach day. You can sit back, relax, and perfect that tropical tan, or contact us for choices of an added activity.

Day 17

Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city.

Day 18

Poas Volcano, Doka, La Paz Waterfall Gardens

Paos Volcano, Doka, La Paz Waterfall Gardens. On the way to Paos Volcano, we will visit Doka Coffee Estate for breakfast and tour to learn the techniques and process in the cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the Golden Bean. At the Volcano, we will observe the massive main crater with sulfur fumaroles and learn about the variety of ecosystems in the park. We will continue to La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and follow the trail leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. This 10 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, entrance fee to Poas Volcano National Park, entrance fee to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, entrance fee to Coffee Tour, breakfast, and lunch.

Day 19

SJO

Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight.
