Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Adventure Inn. The Adventure Inn is a comfortable airport hotel located in the Cariari area. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, swimming pool, fitness room, free cab to and from airport, and internet. While at Adventure Inn you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, bathroom with tub, shower or Jacuzzi, telephone, internet access, cable TV, hair dryer, coffee maker, writing table and chairs. |
Day 2 Transportation will be provided to Puerto Viejo which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica. During your visit to Puerto Viejo, you will stay at Hotel Banana Azul. Hotel Banana Azul is a Caribbean style beach hotel located directly on the beach at Puerto Viejo. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, and internet. While at Hotel Banana Azul you will enjoy a Ocean Room. Ocean Room feature top floor, naturally-vented rooms with hardwood furniture, ocean view deck with hammock. |
Day 3 Beach day at Puerto Viejo. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Caribbean coast. |
Day 4 Cahuita National Park and Snorkeling combo is a great way to enjoy both wildlife in the jungle and marine life in ocean. In the morning a bilingual guide will lead you through the rain forest where you will see many species of wildlife, flora and fauna, such as monkeys, sloths, iguanas, Morphos butterflies, birds, snakes and much. The afternoon continues with an awesome snorkeling adventure. Swim above rock and coral formations along the Cahuita coastline and observe the wondrous marine life below. This fun filled half day adventure which includes transportation, bilingual certified guide, equipment and lunch. |
Day 5 Surf day at Puerto Viejo. Surfs up and stress is down. Today you will have a day on your own to hang 10 and walk on water. |
Day 6 Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Hotel La Fortuna. Hotel La Fortuna is an affordable hotel conveniently located near the shops, restaurants and night life of downtown La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include internet access, restaurant and bar. While at Hotel La Fortuna you will enjoy a Volcano View Room. Standard Rooms with Volcano View feature air conditioning, cable TV, hair dryer, and of course a volcano view. |
Day 7 The Arenal Volcano Natural History and Hot Springs tour is a great way to learn about the volcano and observe wildlife before relaxing in thermal hot springs! The tour starts in the afternoon at the El Silencio Trail, where you will go on an easy hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out various species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at a mirador with excellent views to the volcano. |
Day 8 Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class II and III rapids on the Rio Balsa. This is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. No experience necessary on this half day adventure which includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch, and equipment. |
Day 9 Free day to explore La Fortuna. This is a fun little tourist geared town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities. Go explore the rainforest, volcano, lake, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 10 Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Hotel Quetzal Inn. Hotel Quetzal Inn is a budget oriented eco-lodge located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. While at Hotel Quetzal Inn you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature comfortable accommodations and have private bathroom. |
Day 11 The Canopy Zipline is a MUST DO for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course offers 16 zips up to 600 meters and 80 meters high as you soar through the air from platform to platform via wheel and harness for a birds eye view of the rainforest. To top it all off, you can also do a rappel and Tarzan swing. This fun filled half day adventure includes transportation and guides. |
Day 12 Free day to explore Monteverde. This is a fun little tourist geared town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities. Go explore the cloud forest, town, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 13 Transportation will be provided to the Manuel Antonio area which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the national park. During your visit to Manuel Antonio, you will stay at Hotel Verde Mar. Hotel Verde Mar is a tourist class Manuel Antonio hotel conveniently located right by the main beach area, shops and restaurants. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, and internet. While at Hotel Verde Mar you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air-conditioning, ceiling fans, in-room safe, kitchenette with hot plate stove, bar refrigerator, coffee maker, and toaster. |
Day 14 Beach day at Manuel Antonio. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 15 Trimaran Sailing and Snorkeling tour along the Manuel Antonio coast. This is a beautiful coast along the Pacific Ocean with 12 islands, jungle lined peninsulas, and loads of marine life. After cruising along, we will stop at a secluded beach to eat and snorkel. Species that are frequently spotted on this trip include whales, dolphins, and sea turtles. This half day tour includes transportation and meal. |
Day 16 Another Manuel Antonio beach day. You can sit back, relax, and perfect that tropical tan, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 17 Transportation will be provided to Dominical which is home to some of the most beautiful palm studded surf beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the surrounding mountains. During your visit to Dominical, you will stay at Hacienda Baru. Hacienda Baru is an amazing eco-lodge and wildlife refuge located just north of Dominical. This unique property is a birdwatcher and adventurers paradise with miles of trails, secluded beaches, and adventure activities galore. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and internet. While at Hacienda Baru you will enjoy a Superior Room. Superior Rooms feature naturally-ventilation, a bathroom with hot water shower, in-room safe, and a front porch with a view of the rainforest. |
Day 18 Corcovado National Park Tour. The day starts off with a drive down the coast and boat ride through the Sierpe Mangroves out to the Pacific Ocean and down to the wilds of the Osa Peninsula. Then a bilingual naturalist guide will lead you on a voyage to Corcovado National Park. This park is home to about 6,000 species of insects, 500 tree species, 367 bird species, 140 mammal species, 117 amphibian and reptile species, 40 fresh water fish species and abundant flora and fauna. Your guide will point out and describe the various species. In the afternoon with a little luck you will have the opportunity to see dolphins, sea turtles and whales upon you return by boat. This 11.5 hour tour includes transportation, guide, park entrance, and lunch. |

Day 21 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
