Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to the Turrialba Volcano area which is one of Costa Rica?s active volcanoes and an adventure capital. During your visit to Turrialba, you will stay at Hotel Villa Florencia. Hotel Villa Florencia is a comfortable boutique style hotel located near Turrialba Volcano. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, conference room, and internet. While at Hotel Villa Florencia you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature hair dryer, iron and ironing board, TV, and either a view of the gardens or access to them. |
Day 2 Whitewater rafting on the Rio Pacuare. Professional bilingual guides will help navigate you through class III and IV rapids on this thrilling adventure. The Rio Pacuare is a great river for experienced rafters or those in good physical condition. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. No experience necessary on this 6 hour adventure which includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch and equipment. |
Day 3 Archaeological Hike at the Guayabo National Monument. Ancient stone carvings, skillfully engineered Pre-Columbian aqueducts with flowing water, and roads going into the rainforest hints to Costa Rica s mysterious past civilizations. Guayabo National Monument is the most important archaeological site in the country. Shadowed by Turrialba Volcano, this mysterious ancient city of over 10,000 people disappeared prior to the arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century. A guide will explain the history of the early inhabitants and these ancient excavations that hold a world of mysteries and unanswered questions. This tour includes a bilingual guide, gear, and round-trip transportation. |
Day 3 Transportation will be provided to San Gerardo de Dota which is a birdwatchers paradise located in the central cloud forests. During your visit to San Gerardo de Dota, you will stay at Savegre Mountain Hotel. Savegre Mountain Hotel Natural Reserve and Spa is a comfortable eco-lodge and bird watchers paradise located in the cloud forest area of San Gerardo de Dota. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, nature trails, conference room, and internet. While at Savegre Mountain Hotel you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature comfortable accommodations with an electrical heating system. |
Day 4 Hiking Through the Cloud Forest. The lodge has many trails to choose from including moderate to challenging trails. This 5 hour tour includes guide. No transportation is needed from Savegre Mountain Hotel. Transportation is not included from other area hotels. |
Day 5 Transportation will be provided to Dominical which is home to some of the most beautiful palm studded surf beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the surrounding mountains. During your visit to Dominical, you will stay at Hacienda Baru. Hacienda Baru is an eco-lodge and wildlife refuge located just north of Dominical. This unique property is a bird watcher's and adventurer's paradise with miles of trails, secluded beaches, and adventure activities galore. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and internet. While at Hacienda Baru you will enjoy a Superior Room. Day 7 Cano Island Tour and Snorkeling. Cano Island is located 15 kilometers off the south Pacific coast. It was utilized by Pre-Columbian indigenous people as a sacred burial area and many artifacts remain. The day starts off with a drive down the coast and boat ride through the Sierpe Mangroves out to the Pacific Ocean and out to Cano Island. Upon arrival we will snorkel for an hour and then you will eat lunch. After eating, you have your choice of exploring the island or beach time on the white sands. This 11.5 hour tour includes transportation, guide, park entrance, and lunch. |
Day 8 Transportation will be provided to the Manuel Antonio area which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the national park. During your visit to Manuel Antonio, you will stay at The Falls Resort. The Falls Resort is a boutique style Manuel Antonio hotel located along the hillside resort area. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, internet, and tropical gardens. While at The Falls Resort you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, cable TV with DVD, mini bar, and ceiling fan, and a furnished patio with garden view. |
Day 9 Manuel Antonio National Park guided tour. Though this is the smallest national park in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio is one of the largest in terms on biodiversity. The park is home to 3 species of monkeys, 2 types of sloths and many other endangered species. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out wildlife such as these and others. Park is closed on Mondays. This half day 3.5 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, and fruits. |

Day 11 Transportation will be provided to the Jaco-Hermosa area which is a mini surf city with palm studded beaches, shops, restaurants and plenty of night life. During your visit to Jaco, you will stay at Best Western Jaco Beach Resort. The Best Western Jaco Beach Resort is a beach front hotel located at Playa Jaco. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, fitness center, and internet. While at Best Western Jaco Beach Resort you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, internet access, private bathroom with hot water, TV Cable, telephone, alarm clock, safety deposit box, hair dryer, and coffee maker. |

Day 14 Transportation will be provided to Montezuma which is home to some of the most beautiful palm studded beaches in Costa Rica. During your visit to Montezuma, you will stay at Ylang Ylang Resort. Ylang Ylang Resort is a romantic beach front boutique resort located on Playa Montezuma. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, spa, hammocks, tropical gardens, luggage transfer to and from village, and internet. While at Ylang Ylang Resort you will enjoy a Beach Front Room. Day 19 Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include heated hot spring pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, conference room, and tropical gardens. While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Day 20 Canopy Zipline Adventure. The Canopy Zipline is a must do for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course offers 15 zips and a Tarzan Swing at the base of Arenal Volcano. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. Day 21 Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura. Ramada Herradura is an airport hotel and resort. It also provides one of the largest conference centers in Costa Rica. Hotel amenities include swimming pools, jacuzzis, restaurants, bar, casino, and tropical gardens and Airport Shuttle. While at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura you will enjoy a Superior Room. Superior Rooms feature air conditioning, satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, internet access. |
Day 22 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
