Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Adventure Inn. The Adventure Inn is a comfortable airport hotel located in the Cariari area. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, swimming pool, fitness room, free cab to and from airport, and internet. While at Adventure Inn you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, bathroom with tub, shower or Jacuzzi, telephone, internet access, cable TV, hair dryer, coffee maker, writing table and chairs. |
Day 2 Transportation will be provided to Tortuguero which is home to numerous species of wildlife and a primary nesting area for Atlantic Green Sea Turtles from July through October. During your visit to Tortuguero, you will stay at Laguna Lodge. Laguna Lodge is a comfortable eco-resort located on the Tortuguero Canals. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, conference room, nature trails, and internet. While at Laguna Lodge you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms are naturally-ventilated featuring comfortable beds, a private bath, ceiling fan, reading lamps, in-room safe, and a walkway in front. |
Day 2 Tortuguero Town Tour. Tortuguero is a typical Caribbean coastal fishing village. Your guide will walk you through the town and explain how the villagers live and about their unique culture. This 1 hour tour includes bilingual guide. |
Day 3 Tortuguero Canal Tour. This tour is a riverboat ride through the Tortuguero Canals, which are located within the national park. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual guide will point out animals, flora, and fauna that live within this unique eco-system. The Tortuguero Canals are home to many species of wildlife including, but not limited to three species of monkeys, two species of sloths, crocodiles, caimans, various species of amphibians and reptiles, and hundreds of bird species. This tour lasts 2 - 3 hours and includes a bilingual naturalist guide. |
Day 4 Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include heated hot spring pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, conference room, and tropical gardens. While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Junior Suites feature air-conditioning, cable TV, ceiling fan, mini bar stocked with complimentary beverages for two people, telephone, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a terrace area with a view of Arenal Volcano. |
Day 5 Safari Float on the Rio Penas Blancas. This is a great tour for those that want the fun of whitewater rafting without the rapids. The safari float is done on a rafting boat, but at a much slower pace on a gently rolling river which creates a fun way to observe wildlife along the river edge. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. This half day, 4 hour tour includes transportation, equipment, guide, and snack. |
Day 6 Free day to explore La Fortuna. This is a fun little tourist geared town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities. Go explore the rainforest, volcano, lake, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 7 Arenal Volcano observation hike at El Silencio Trail. In the afternoon, you will go on an easy level guided hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out different species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at one of the closest safe observation points to the volcano. Following the hike you will be brought to Baldi Hot Springs to relax and bathe in your choice of 22 hot spring pools which are surrounded by tropical gardens and regulated at various temperatures. |
Day 8 Transportation will be provided to Monteverde which is located in the cloud forests of the continental divide. During your visit to Monteverde, you will stay at Hotel Los Pinos. Hotel Los Pinos is an eco-lodge located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Hotel amenities include internet and nature trails. While at Hotel Los Pinos you will enjoy a One-bedroom Standard Cabin. One-bedroom Standard Cabins feature in-room safe, kitchenette, dining room, and parking area. |
Day 9 Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve tour. This is an easy walk through the famous cloud forest which is located at an elevation of 1,350 meters. The cloud forest is an amazing place where one will view life on top of life and many endangered and endemic species. After the hike you will be able to visit the Hummingbird Gallery. This 4 hour tour includes transportation, park entrance, and guide. |
Day 10 Canopy Zipline adventure on the Selvatura Canopy course. The Canopy Zipline is a must do for anybody adventurous that visits Costa Rica. This thrilling high speed, high flying course offers 15 zips and a Tarzan swing. This 4 hour tour includes transportation, and guide. |
Day 11 Transportation will be provided to the Flamingo-Conchal area which is home to beautiful palm studded beaches. During your visit to the Flamingo-Conchal area, you will stay at Flamingo Beach Resort. Flamingo Beach Resort is a beach front hotel located on the pristine golden sands of Playa Flamingo. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, spa, casino, fitness center, family center, beauty salon, tennis courts, resort activities, conference room, and internet. While at Flamingo Beach Resort you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, flat-screen Satellite TV, high-speed internet, clock radio, telephone, ceiling fan, in-room safe, coffee maker, and a hair dryer. Day 13 Another Playa Flamingo beach day. You can sit back, relax, and perfect that tropical tan, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |

Day 14 ONLY AVAILABLE SUN,MON,WED,FRI. Palo Verde National Park and Guaitil Pottery tour. This tour starts off on a covered riverboat which will take you through the river in the national park. Palo Verde is a birdwatcher's paradise as it is home to the highest concentration of migratory birds in Central America. You will also have a great chance at viewing crocodiles, monkeys, and other wildlife. After the riverboat ride, we will eat lunch and then visit the village of Guaitil to learn about the Chorotega Indians and pottery that they make using Pre-Columbian techniques which have been handed down for many generations. This 7 hour tour includes transportation, guide, lunch, and drinks. |
Day 15 Transportation will be provided to Samara which is home to some of the most beautiful palm studded beaches in Costa Rica. During your visit to Samara, you will stay at Hotel Villas Playa Samara. Hotel Villas Playa Samara is a beach front property with villas located a little south of the Samara town center. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, spa, and internet. While at Hotel Villas Playa Samara you will enjoy a Garden View One Bedroom Villa. Day 17 Stand Up Paddle Boarding on Playa Carrillo. Professional bilingual guides will teach you how to walk on water on a beautiful and calm bay in front of a jungle setting. Stand up paddle boarding is one of the funnest new sports and easy to do within minutes of your lesson. No experience necessary on this 4 hour adventure which includes transportation, paddling instructions, guide, snack. |
Day 18 Dolphin Watching Tour. The coast off of Playa Samara is home to several species of dolphins. The tour is taken on a small Costa Rican style motorized boat. With a little luck and cooperation we will be able to observe the dolphins and possibly whales as they play. This 3 hour tour includes transportation and guide. |

Day 20 Transportation will be provided to the Manuel Antonio area which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the national park. During your visit to Manuel Antonio, you will stay at The Falls Resort. The Falls Resort is a boutique style Manuel Antonio hotel located along the hillside resort area. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, internet, and tropical gardens. While at The Falls Resort you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, cable TV with DVD, mini bar, and ceiling fan, and a furnished patio with garden view. |
Day 21 Beach day at Manuel Antonio. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 22 Snorkeling tour. There are many islands off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica that are ideal for snorkeling and diving. On this tour you will snorkel off of tropical islands. This 3 hour tour includes transportation, guide, and snorkeling gear. |
Day 23 Another Manuel Antonio beach day. You can sit back, relax, and perfect that tropical tan, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 24Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Adventure Inn. Day 25 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
