Day 1![]() Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Gran Hotel. The Gran Hotel is conveniently located between national monuments, squares, museums and pedestrian streets in the Historic District of San Jose. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, conference room, art gallery, valet parking, and internet. While at Gran Hotel you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air-conditioning, classic wood furniture and desk, 1930 bathtub, Satellite TV, in-room safe, wireless internet, mini bar, ceiling fan, and a view of the courtyard. |
Day 2![]() Transportation will be provided to Tortuguero which is home to numerous species of wildlife and a primary nesting area for Atlantic Green Sea Turtles from July through October. During your visit to Tortuguero, you will stay at Turtle Beach Lodge. Turtle Beach Lodge is a comfortable eco-lodge located between the beach area and the Tortuguero Canals. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar, nature trails, and internet. While at Turtle Beach Lodge you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms are naturally-ventilated featuring private bathroom with hot water, and garden view. |
Day 2![]() Tortuguero Town Tour. Tortuguero is a typical Caribbean coastal fishing village. Your guide will walk you through the town and explain how the villagers live and about their unique culture. This 1 hour tour includes bilingual guide. |
Day 3![]() Tortuguero Canal Tour. This tour is a riverboat ride through the Tortuguero Canals, which are located within the national park. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual guide will point out animals, flora, and fauna that live within this unique eco-system. The Tortuguero Canals are home to many species of wildlife including, but not limited to three species of monkeys, two species of sloths, crocodiles, caimans, various species of amphibians and reptiles, and hundreds of bird species. This tour lasts 2 - 3 hours and includes a bilingual naturalist guide. |
Day 3![]() Tortuguero Guided Hike. This is a guided hike through the rainforest with a bilingual naturalist guide. The hike is typically performed on the grounds of the hotel which is located within the national park. It is common to see monkeys, sloths, dart frogs, and many of bird species. This 2 -3 hour tour includes bilingual naturalist guide. |
Day 4![]() Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort with thermal hot springs surrounded by tropical gardens located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include thermal hot springs, swimming pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, yoga platform and conference room. While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Junior Suites feature air-conditioning, cable TV, ceiling fan, mini bar stocked with complimentary beverages for two people, telephone, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a terrace area with a view of Arenal Volcano. |
Day 5![]() Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class II and III rapids on the Rio Balsa. This is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. No experience necessary on this half day adventure which includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch, and equipment. |
Day 6![]() The Hanging Bridges offer an amazing glimpse into the canopy of the rainforest! The hike includes terrestrial trails and bridges through the tree tops allowing you to view the forest from all perspectives. This fun filled half day tour includes guides, transportation, and entrance to the private reserve. |
Day 7![]() Transportation will be provided to the Flamingo-Conchal area which is home to beautiful palm studded beaches. During your visit to the Flamingo-Conchal area, you will stay at Flamingo Beach Resort. Flamingo Beach Resort is a beach front hotel located on the pristine golden sands of Playa Flamingo. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, spa, casino, fitness center, family center, beauty salon, tennis courts, resort activities, conference room, and internet. While at Flamingo Beach Resort you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature air conditioning, flat-screen Satellite TV, high-speed internet, clock radio, telephone, ceiling fan, in-room safe, coffee maker, and a hair dryer. Some rooms feature private balcony with garden view. |
Day 8![]() The warm waters surrounding Costa Rica are teaming with tropical fish. This fun filled half day adventure includes transportation, bilingual certified guide, and equipment. Upgrade to scuba diving for an additional 50 USD per person. |

Day 10![]() Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
