Day 1![]() Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to the Turrialba Volcano area which is one of Costa Rica?s active volcanoes and an adventure capital. During your visit to Turrialba, you will stay at Hotel Casa Turire. Hotel Casa Turire is a comfortable boutique style hotel overlooking Lake Angostura and near Turrialba Volcano. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, conference room, game room, spa, and internet. While at Hotel Casa Turire you will enjoy a Standard Room. Day 2![]() Turrialba Volcano hiking adventure. This is a guided hike that will take us from the upper rings of the rain forest to cloud forest over 10,000 feet in elevation. Turrialba is one of 5 active volcanoes in Costa Rica and we will be able to observe the crater at the peak of the hike. This tour is available for people in good physical condition and includes transportation, lunch and tour guide. |
Day 3![]() Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class II and III rapids on the Rio Pejibaye. This is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. This fun filled adventure includes transportation, specialized equipment and bilingual tour guide. |
Day 4![]() Transportation will be provided to San Gerardo de Dota which is a birdwatchers paradise located in the central cloud forests. During your visit to San Gerardo de Dota, you will stay at Savegre Mountain Hotel. Savegre Mountain Hotel Natural Reserve and Spa is a comfortable eco-lodge and bird watchers paradise located in the cloud forest area of San Gerardo de Dota. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, nature trails, conference room, and internet. While at Savegre Mountain Hotel you will enjoy a Standard Room. Standard Rooms feature comfortable accommodations with an electrical heating system. |
Day 5![]() Guided Hike through Los Quetzales National Park. This is a guided birdwatching hike through the high altitudes of Cerro de la Muerte. This tour is great for any birdwatcher and particularly those seeking Resplendent Quetzals as this is one of the few areas in the world that has the right features to harbor Quetzals year round. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, we should be able to spot many species of birds. The tour lasts 6 hours and includes guide. No transportation is needed from Savegre Mountain Hotel. Transportation is not included from other area hotels. |
Day 6![]() Transportation will be provided to Uvita which is home to some of the most beautiful palm studded beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the national park. During your visit to Uvita, you will stay at La Cusinga Eco Lodge. La Cusinga Eco Lodge is an eco-lodge and wildlife refuge located just south of Uvita. The refuge protects some 250 hectares of land which is covered with primary rainforest, teaming with wildlife, and fronts an amazingly beautiful beach along the south Pacific coast. Hotel amenities include restaurant, nature trails, yoga platform, spa, and internet. While at La Cusinga Eco Lodge you will enjoy a Ocean View Superior Double Room. Ocean View Superior Double Rooms feature natural ventilation, with a panoramic view of the ocean. |
Day 7![]() Combo Tour Snorkeling, Caves, and Whale Watching. A bilingual guide will start and finish the tour on Punta Uvita Beach. Includes a visit in which you can see the different beaches of the National Park, Punta Uvita Beach, Colonia Beach, Arco Beach, Ballena Beach and Piñuelas Beach, on the other hand it also includes a visit to different important places near the national park such as, Ventanas’ Caves, and the possibility to watch one of the Terraba’s River mouths, Coronado River mouth. The tour also includes the cetaceous searching that is one of the main reasons why the tourist visit the zone. See some species of whales such as the humpback whale, pilot whale, and some others. Also, dolphin species that are located in almost all of the pacific coast of America such as the bottle nosed dolphins, common dolphin, rough toothed dolphin, pantropical or pacific spotted dolphin, and others. It is also renowned because of the snorkeling in one of the important coral reefs that the Park has, in which you can find great marine life diversity in such places as Ballena Rock and Tómbolo Punta Uvita. This tour includes entrance to national park, bilingual tour guide, safety equipment, snorkeling equipment, water, and fruit. |
Day 8![]() Beach day at Playa Uvita. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 9![]() Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura. Hotel Ramada Herradura is a comfortable, newly remodeled airport hotel and resort. The hotel is well known for great customer service and tropical setting. Hotel amenities include large free form swimming pools with islands, jacuzzis, theme restaurants, spa, beauty center, bar, casino, and tropical gardens. Day 10![]() Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
