Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to Dominical which is home to some of the most beautiful palm studded surf beaches in Costa Rica and an abundance of wildlife in the surrounding mountains. During your visit to Dominical, you will stay at Hotel Villas Rio Mar. Hotel Villas Rio Mar is a 3 star bungalow style resort located in the jungles of Dominical. Some of Costa Rica's most beautiful deserted beaches are located within minutes of this property. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, spa, tennis courts, and internet. Day 2 Beach day at Playa Dominical. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. | ||||||||||||||||||
Day 3 Tree Climbing in Hacienda Baru National Wildlife Refuge. A professional guide will accompany you on a thrilling tree climb into the canopy of the rainforest. No experience necessary, though participants should be in fairly good physical condition. After a safety briefing, your guide will assist you the entire way up some 35 meters. This 2.5 hour tour includes guide. No transportation is needed from Hacienda Baru. Transportation is not included from other area hotels. | ||||||||||||||||||
Day 4 Kayaking, Waves and Caves at Marino Ballena Park. The tour starts out at Playa Ventanas and we will kayak out along the beautiful coastline. There are over 30 sea caves in this area which can be observed from the kayak. If the tides are right we will be able to enter 2 of them on foot. This 5 hour tour includes transportation, guide, park entrance, and snacks. | ||||||||||||||||||
Day 5 Transportation will be provided to Baru which is home to lush rainforests and cloud forests. During your visit to Baru, you will stay at Tree of Life. The Casa de Piedra is a cave located in the middle of primary rain and cloud forest in the southern zone near Dominical. This jungle hideaway has a fully functioning kitchen and bathrooms and mats with blankets to sleep on. There are two waterfalls that constantly pour in front of the cave and unimaginable views in a spectacular setting. The only way to access the cave is to hike a steep mountain on a rugged path. This is truly for the adventurous, but well worth it for the reward. This is where it gets exiting. You will actually spend the night in the cave. The family that runs this unique tour has equipped the cave with a modern conveniences such as beds, fully functioning kitchen, modern toilets and showers. Adter settling into camp you will have the opportunity to rappel down the waterfalls several times, utilizing the latest safety equipment and techniques that your guides will instruct you on. While at Tree of Life you will enjoy a Diamante Rappelling Overnight in Casa de Piedra - 2D - 1N Room. RATED BASED IN TWO DAYS AND ONE NIGHT. Departs at 8am. Returns 3pm following day. Day 5 Canyoning and rappelling down rainforest waterfalls is the coolest new sport and an incredible way to make your way through the jungle! After a brief safety course, your professional guides will hook you up so you can descend down rainforest waterfalls in front of the Casa de Piedra. Words simply cannot describe this amazing experience! No previous knowledge or experience is necessary. This thrilling adventure includes equipment and guide. | ||||||||||||||||||
Day 6 After breakfast we will hike up and into cloud forest. On the top of the mountain there is a waterfall with a pool below it, which you can jump into. The drop is approximately 7 meters. Following the jumping and swimming we will descend back down to the Casa de Piedra to pack and continue the decent down to the base of the mountain. | ||||||||||||||||||
Day 6 Transportation will be provided to San Gerardo de Dota which is a birdwatchers paradise located in the central cloud forests. During your visit to San Gerardo de Dota, you will stay at Savegre Mountain Hotel. Savegre Mountain Hotel Natural Reserve and Spa is a comfortable eco-lodge and bird watchers paradise located in the cloud forest area of San Gerardo de Dota. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, nature trails, conference room, and internet. While at Savegre Mountain Hotel you will enjoy a Standard Room. Day 7 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! | ||||||||||||||||||
