Day 1

Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital.

During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort with thermal hot springs surrounded by tropical gardens located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include thermal hot springs, swimming pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, yoga platform and conference room.

While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Junior Suites feature air-conditioning, cable TV, ceiling fan, mini bar stocked with complimentary beverages for two people, telephone, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a terrace area with a view of Arenal Volcano.

Day 2

Today you will have your choice of one of the following tour options:

A) The Hanging Bridges offer an amazing glimpse into the canopy of the rainforest! The hike includes terrestrial trails and bridges through the tree tops allowing you to view the forest from all perspectives. This fun filled half day tour includes guides, transportation, lunch, and entrance to the private reserve.

B) The Sky Tram and Trek Canopy Zipline is an awesome adventure. The fun starts off by taking a gondola style cable car some 1250 meters up through the rainforest canopy to a jungle covered hilltop in front of the imposing Arenal Volcano. You then go through a brief safety course and you are on your way zipping from platform to platform down 8 cables as you make your way to the bottom of the hill. This fun filled half day tour includes transportation, guide, and lunch.

Day 3

Today you will have your choice of one of the following tour options:

A) The Cano Negro Riverboat Safari is an amazing experience and opportunity to see numerous species of wildlife. The refuge is home to one of the largest populations of caimans, which can be observed at nearly every turn! It’s not only reptiles though as the area is also home to both spider monkeys and congo monkeys which can be heard howling from miles away. Birdwatchers will delight as hundreds of species either live here or migrate through including toucans, roseate spoonbills and trogons. This fun filled safari includes transportation, bilingual naturalist guide, and lunch.

B) Whitewater rafting is a thrilling adventure and Costa Rica is home to some of the best rivers and guides in the world! The day starts off with a brief safety lesson and you are then on your way as your guide navigates you through class II and III rapids on the Rio Balsa. This is a great river for first timers and those that want the thrills of rafting without going overboard - yes the pun was intended. No experience necessary on this half day adventure which includes transportation, safety kayaker, guides, lunch, and equipment.

Day 4

Transportation will be provided to Tambor which is home to palm studded beaches which are excellent for swimming.

During your visit to Tambor, you will stay at Barcelo Tambor Beach Resort. Barcelo Tambor Beach Resort is an all-inclusive resort on the southern Nicoya Peninsula. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, spa, casino, fitness center, beauty salon, tennis courts, resort activities, conference room, and internet.

While at Barcelo Tambor Beach Resort you will enjoy a Double Guest Room. Double Guest Rooms feature air-conditioning, bathroom, shower, hair dryer, magnifying mirror, telephone, Satellite TV, mini bar, coffeemaker, in-room safe, and a terrace or balcony with sea or garden views.

Day 5

The Tortuga Island Boat Ride and Snorkeling adventure is an amazing experience! The tour starts with a scenic cruise along the Gulf of Nicoya for a 50 minute voyage to Tortuga Island. Dolphins, manta rays or humpback whales are just a few examples of the marine life frequently viewed along the way to the island. Upon arriving to the tropical paradise of Tortuga Island you will anchor for your first snorkeling session. This area is surrounded by volcanic rocks, crystal waters and vibrant tropical coral reefs which is home some of the best snorkeling on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast. After snorkeling, you will continue to the white sand beach of Tortuga Island. Kayak rentals and additional snorkeling available. This fun filled full day excursion includes transportation, guide, snorkeling equipment, drinks, and meal.

Day 6

Beach day at Playa Tambor. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast.

Day 7

Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight.
