Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to San Jose which is the capital city. During your visit to San Jose, you will stay at Hotel Ramada Plaza Herradura. Hotel Ramada Herradura is a comfortable, newly remodeled airport hotel and resort. The hotel is well known for great customer service and tropical setting. Hotel amenities include large free form swimming pools with islands, jacuzzis, theme restaurants, spa, beauty center, bar, casino, and tropical gardens. Day 2 Poas Volcano, Doka, La Paz Waterfall Gardens. On the way to Poas Volcano, we will visit Doka Coffee Estate for breakfast and tour to learn the techniques and process in the cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the Golden Bean. At the Volcano, we will observe the massive main crater with sulfur fumaroles and learn about the variety of ecosystems in the park. We will continue to La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and follow the trail leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. This 10 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, entrance fee to Poas Volcano National Park, entrance fee to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, entrance fee to Coffee Tour, breakfast, and lunch. | ||||||||||||||||||
Day 3 Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Arenal Springs Resort. Arenal Springs Resort is an eco-resort with thermal hot springs surrounded by tropical gardens located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano in the resort area outside of La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include thermal hot springs, swimming pools, restaurant, bar, internet access, spa, yoga platform and conference room. While at Arenal Springs Resort and Spa you will enjoy a Junior Suite. Day 4 The Cano Negro Riverboat Safari is an amazing experience and opportunity to see numerous species of wildlife. The refuge is home to one of the largest populations of caimans, which can be observed at nearly every turn! It’s not only reptiles though as the area is also home to both spider monkeys and congo monkeys which can be heard howling from miles away. Birdwatchers will delight as hundreds of species either live here or migrate through including toucans, roseate spoonbills and trogons. This fun filled safari includes transportation, bilingual naturalist guide, and lunch. | ||||||||||||||||||
Day 5 The Arenal Volcano Natural History and Nature tour is a great way to learn about the volcano and observe wildlife. The tour starts in the afternoon at the El Silencio Trail, where you will go on an easy hike through the rainforest at the base of the volcano. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out various species of wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, parrots and others. The trail ends at a mirador with excellent views to the volcano. This fun filled half day excursion includes guide, transportation, and entrance to the private reserve. | ||||||||||||||||||
Day 6 Transportation will be provided to Tambor which is home to palm studded beaches which are excellent for swimming. During your visit to Tambor, you will stay at Barcelo Tambor Beach Resort. Barcelo Tambor Beach Resort is an all-inclusive resort on the southern Nicoya Peninsula. Hotel amenities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, spa, casino, fitness center, beauty salon, tennis courts, resort activities, conference room, and internet. While at Barcelo Tambor Beach Resort you will enjoy a Double Guest Room.
