Costa Rica Weather

Costa Rica weather is in short predictably unpredictable. The country is home to an astounding twelve distinct climate zones. These zones are generally divided by elevation and range from coastal mangroves to cloud forest. Each of these pockets is capable of producing unique weather patterns. The country is also divided by the towering Talamanca Mountain range which splits weather patterns from the Caribbean and Pacific slopes. The Costa Rica south Pacific is generally driest between December and May. The northwest Pacific has the shortest rain season with the worst months being September and October. No worries though, if you are looking for beaches with great weather during these months you can skip over to the Caribbean side where September and October provide the best weather.
