This hotel is a bit isolated, but it is in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, it is not well maintained, in particular the plumbing.

Loved the staff! Each person was very helpful and friendly. Selim took us out to the surrounding land and found a red-eyed-tree frog and also hand-picked fruit for us to try. It's not a five-star hotel but we found it to be clean, the breakfasts wonderful, and the views fantastic. We saw toucans, an armadillo, and many other animals.

We had an amazing experience at Arenal Palace Hotel and if we returned to Costa Rica we would want to stay here again.My first reaction was that the rate was a little high based on amenities, however, after just a couple of hours there, we quickly learned this is a hotel where you are not paying for amenities, you are paying for the kind and caring hotel staff and comfortable accommodations. Papa Selim was so good to us and we can't thank him enough for treating us like family while we were there.
