The hot springs and staff at the bars in the hot springs were our favorite place to hang out and relax after our outings each morning. The kids loved cooling off in the fresh water pool after hanging out in the hot springs. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds and the iguana and lizards.

The service here is amazing. If you think you want it, they get it for you. The ceiling fan in our room wasn’t turning on. We called the front desk and in 5 minutes two men came with a ladder and fixed it. Little chocolates at night - wonderful. I got a stomach bug one day - Marcos, in the Italian restaurant was so kind - made me some lime soda water and brought me a plate of soup…Beautiful grounds. We were originally assigned a bungalow near the pools, but asked to be switched to another.. Which we were. Childless couples will appreciate being a row or two off the pool.. Lots of kids here - and they are in the pool all the time. There is an adult section, so you don’t have to be among the kid craziness, but children make more noise than adults, so being away from it might be the preference.

Beautiful property. Intentional in many ways. Restaurants on site were very nice with good food. Breakfast every day was a wonderful addition. The hot springs were so nicely designed and fun to sit in while having a drink at the bar or grabbing a bite for lunch. Our room was comfortable and the views were amazing. We were relatively close to most of our excursions in the area which was nice. The staff on site was all so friendly and made us feel truly welcome.

Stunning resort. I absolutely loved the hotel rooms, grounds, the pools and hot springs and would stay here again. That being said, this resort had the most uncomfortable beds and pillows of our entire trip. The staff also were the least friendly and rarely smiled, unlike the staff at all the other places we stayed.

Our only complaint was the A/C turned off in the middle of the day, which is probably under a motion detector of some sort, but it was pretty hot when we got back each afternoon/evening.

The hotel was beautiful, clean, and luxurious. The view from our room was stunning and a once in a lifetime experience. The cleaning service left decorative towel designs on our beds and chocolates every night. I love that the hotel does not allow anyone other then hotel guests to use the Hot Springs. The hot springs were wonderful and the food at all 3 restaurants was very good. We were only disappointed that we were unable to exchange $20 bills for lesser $ bills.

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel. It felt expansive yet manageable, natural yet clean, and the staff was lovely and professional always. The breakfast was especially wonderful. I will dream of it for years. The hotel is not really walkable to other things but a cab cost 10$ to get to La Fortuna, which is full of inexpensive restaurants.

This was a beautiful facility and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and grounds were immaculate. The pools and poolside service was great. Only one suggestion for improvement - there were not enough lounge chairs around the pool and there appeared to be a competition for seating poolside. Great breakfast, but the main dining restaurant was expensive and not very authentic.

Hotel is beautifully kept and staff welcoming and friendly we have only marked the hotel down on food quality but to be honest, we generally found the food throughout Costa Rica to be over priced and not of good quality.
The best places were simple food served in local sodas. Everywhere else seemed to cater for the American market and was oversized and over priced.
The resort decorated our room for my birthday and gave us a bottle of wine on arrival, very welcoming

Loved hotel, pool, springs and Italian restaurant. But room was just too small for the family with three kids. No place for luggage or and no place to organize and store clothes. It was pretty uncomfortable, but amenities and hot springs compensated for this. Also, they had the most uncomfortable pillows with plastic covers. Wonder why such nice hotel can’t upgrade to good pillows.

When he learned we were looking forward to seeing sloths, Alan greeted us before breakfast in a gold cart and took us to trees on the property when we did indeed see a sloth. Wow! Arriving at the resort we were welcomed with a refreshing drink and cold towelette to fresh with. The lush vegetation and the incredible hot springs can only be described as paradise. The view from our rooms was of the volcano and we had some time to photograph it with no cloud cover at the top. The food at the resort was very good and the staff excellent. I hope to visit again.

We wish we had more time here! I was with my 10 and 14 year old children and we had a great time. The food, especially the breakfast, was wonderful, everyone was helpful and friendly. My daughter loved catching rides on the golf carts to our room. The village feel was nice. I even saw some people running around the "blocks" in the morning. The one con I will mention is the walls seem a bit thin between units. We could hear our neighbors chatting quite clearly. Other than that the rooms were clean and well supplied. The view of the volcano is amazing. We plan on staying here again on our next trip.

The hotel's location was perfect with the awesome view of the Arenal Volcano and lush surroundings. Also the two rooms were connected so it was very convenient for our family. This hotel was amazing. The room itself was fantastic and the view of the volcano and the landscape was great. we loved the hot spring and the workers that were there were SO polite and helpful. We loved the room service, bartenders, and servers at the restaraunts. The food particularly the steak could've been better and it felt pre cooked and warmed up many times, but overall we had a great relaxing time.

Our first night there we ordered dinner and the waitress only brought the gyozo appetizers and forgot to write down our dinner order. We sat there for 75 minutes before we asked for the rest of the meal. We told the manager and nothing happened. When we checked out we insisted that we only pay for 1/2 of the appetizers. It was a bad start to Arenal Resort. However…. The hot tubs were fun, the waiters at the pool bar were extremely accommodating and the rest of the experience was fine.

The hotel was beautiful. Unfortunately the weather prohibited any clear views of the Arenal volcano, but the hotel grounds and hot springs more than made up for it. The service at the hotel was excellent. The breakfast offered something for everyone and provided a good start to our busy days of walking and hiking. Our hotel suite was roomy and we particularly loved the "outdoor" feel to the shower!

This was a really neat resort. My kids really thought they were in heaven. We particularly enjoyed ordering food each night at the swim-up bar. The staff were great - very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were nice. The only negative for me was that I wish it was a little closer to town, or that a free shuttle was provided so we could explore more. But the prices in the resort's souvenir shop were surprisingly reasonable. The resort's restaurant prices were pretty high though.

Our stay was amazing. The view of La Fortuna was spectacular from our room & looked exactly like the pictures. The resort staff was excellent all around from our first arrival. The little touches in the room & celebrating my birthday at dinner were great. The included breakfast meals always got our days off to a great start bright & early. Thankfully we got to try each of the restaurants for dinner which we also thoroughly enjoyed. Last but certainly not least, the hot springs & pool area were amazing. 10/10 stay

We absolutely loved our time at Arenal Springs Resort & Spa! The view from our room was incredible. The staff was friendly and seemed to genuinely live out the Pura Vida spirit. Breakfast was tasty. Each morning we had a different towel decoration on our bed which was fun!

This was our favorite hotel. The staff was so so nice. The hot springs were amazing and the room was comfy. They even upgraded our room to a queen bed since we originally had a room with 2 twin beds. They also gave us a complimentary tray of fruit with wine because of our honeymoon. Over all we loved this hotel so much. I can't stress enough that the staff is AMAZING!

This resort was amazing! Everything from the staff to the room to the food was top notch. I loved the hot springs. I also enjoyed the plant and wildlife that I could see as I walked down to breakfast. The view of the volcano was stunning, and I took many pictures around the resort because it was such a lovely place. I highly recommend staying here.

Loved the location, hot springs, and relaxation vibe we got at the resort. Was so nice to be able to sit at the bar and eat and enjoy cocktails. Grounds were beautiful! We had a bat fly in our room but that was our fault and we were able to get him out w/out issue. Breakfast was delicious!

The resort surpassed all expectations. The property was gorgeous and the location was perfect. The staff were amazing- friendly, helpful and thoughtful. This is another beautiful hotel. The hot spring pools are amazing. Great place to relax. Food in the hotel is quite pricey though. Included breakfast was delicious and abundant. My only suggestion: can they get rid of so many small plastic bottles ( shampoo, conditioner, hand cream) and have refillable bottles? Being Costa Rica such nature paradise, you may want to reconsider the amount of plastic waste.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again! I loved the area (very peaceful and not crowded) and amenities, loved the setting of the hotel, and the patio where we could drink our coffee and watch and listen to all the birds early in the morning. Absolutely loved the hot spring pools, too, which we used when it was raining the first day! I gave "9" ratings for some items because they really lack closet space and bathroom counter space to be able to unpack and put all items out for use. This was a very minor "discomfort" however. The other issue we encountered was apparently the hot water heater fuse blew and we had to take cold showers one evening (we didn't know what the problem was at the time, and just assumed they had run out of hot water due to everyone getting ready for dinner). But upon advising the front desk we had no hot water the next morning, they took care of it before we got back from our excursion.

Arenal Springs Resort an Spa exceeded all of our expectations! The rooms were spotless and luxurious. The staff was constantly friendly, helpful and professional. They have spoiled us! Laura at the swim up bar quickly became our "go to" bartender and the sushi was terrific! I was worried about getting to and from our little house to the pools, but i never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a driver and golf cart to show up to take us to our destination. Great service! I love this place and would return again and again!

The ability to have a beautiful view of the Arenal Volcano, from our bed, was AMAZING! The best room view I have ever had! Our bathroom had a small gecko/lizard living in the shower that repeatedly would poop in the shower and on the shower shelves (as they were adjacent to a rock wall/plant area); however, I expected to perhaps have some issues with animals. What I did not expect is that the cleaning staff NEVER cleaned up the poop! We spent 6 nights (or 7, I don't recall) at this resort and every day the poop remained and the piles of it continued. We kept our bathroom door closed, so that the gecko/lizard would not be in our bedroom pooping. I just found it to be extremely off-putting. The staff would clearly clean the shower everyday, leave us new shampoo/soap/conditioner/towels...but never deal with the poop. I wasn't surprised to encounter one in our bathroom, I was surprised that the staff wouldn't clean it up. I felt like the food at the resort was mediocre and the drinks were watered down. After several days of this, we started taking UBERs into La Fortuna to eat and we purchased our own alcohol to keep in our room. I loved having several swim up bars and 3 temperature of hot springs to enjoy on site. The wifi was consistently inconsistent, and this created an issue as my boyfriend needed to work a bit during our vacation. We also found it frustrating that when we did attempt to order room service, there was no menu or restaurant options located in the room. We had to walk down to the main lobby to order food and then have it delivered. I felt like most resorts have a small binder with amenities and phone numbers to call if you need assistance, this did not have that. The resort was beautiful, the hot springs were amazing and the views were incomparable.

The music by the pool was not very good. I would have liked to see more fun music. The food was not as good as some simpler places in town and it was more expensive. The guacamole tasted watered down, the chips were stale. HOWEVER, the breakfast was SENSATIONAL. Such a great spread. I really liked the egg station, all the fresh fruit, and the hot food items. The pool area with all of the different temperatures was great as well. I thought the restroom in the room was nice with the garden. I really liked that we were placed in a room near the entrance. I'm not so sure I would have liked being far away. The gift store was convenient, but the bug spray cost was ridiculously expensive... $16USD is way too much.

The only reason I didn’t give all 10’s was because of the price of food and drinks in the resort. Very expensive for what you’re getting. Plus every restaurant bill included gratuity “service” then still expected tip on top. But we quickly learned that taking a taxi to La Fortuna was much more cost effective. The service and facilities were great again! They recognized my wife's birthday, which brought a few tears, so this was by far one of our best experiences! The staff was extremely helpful, and when weather threatened one of our tours (coffee tour set up outside of our original itinerary), the activities person made calls on our behalf, and the tour ultimately was a go. Since it was just my wife and I, the tour lasted three hours instead of the normally two hour tour. We even got a nighttime "eco" tour from our host, due to his love of nature. We will most certainly stay here again when we come back.

This is a 5 star resort in our opinion. Everyone in this resort made us feel like the only people in the resort. The front desk, waiter and the bar tender were awesome. Even as we swam around each bar service gave us excellent service. One of the persons in our party had a hurt leg and all of the driver's (golf carts) were so good to us, even though we called them 10 times a day. Breakfast was delicious every day and wait staff was attentive and made sure we always had water/coffee. The owner/board that owns this resort should be very proud of this resort and the staff.

Very nice place, had everything we wanted and needed. The kids really enjoyed the swim up restaurant (was actually both Sushi/Japanese cuisine and Central American Cuisine). Great view of the Volcano from everywhere on the resort property, including from every room (all faced the volcano). Rooms were mostly private, we had 2 rooms that were attached as part of a separate unit, 1 with a king bed of us and the other had 2 queen beds for our 4 teen boys to share. The only issue was that we could often hear what was going on in the other room, but again we had 4 loud teenage boys next to us. The people were great and truly represent Pura Vida. Service was pretty good, the rooms and resort were always clean and well kept. Room cleaning and resort maintenance was active relatively early though, which might just be local culture/way of doing things as they don't follow daylight savings and sunrise (5:30am) and sunset (5:30 pm) happened early. The food on the resort was good, not great but no real issues except service a little slow which is fine as it's vacation and we were there to take it slow. The resort was very accommodating helping us set up an unplanned activity at the last minute and getting us a taxi service to go into town. Would have been nice if the resort offered a free shuttle service to take you to town (La Fortuna) or to the free local hot springs, but I don't think any of the resorts do this so this would be a differentiation for them if implemented. Overall we were very happy with our choice of the Arenal Springs Resort and Spa, and our experience staying there.

Excellent room and food! Loved the hot springs. I only suggest they find a different spot where people can jump into a cool pool. The spot most people jumped into the pool was next to the sushi bar and frequently splashed guests and the staff. I did not permit my son to jump in and splash the restaurant, but since so many people did, it caused some conflict. Do not allow jumping into the pool by the restaurant, but provide a different place where people CAN jump into a pool.

Fantastic hotel. We loved the beautiful villas and the views. Breakfast was great, but the other meals were quite pricey. We loved the hot spring pools. The regular pool was really cold. We did have one problem when we checked in. We were guaranteed two queen rooms but were given one queen and one king room instead because they didn't have any rooms left. Instead of packing up and moving again the next day when rooms were available, we just asked for a roll away bed for my daughter.

Staff doesn't have sufficient dollars or colones on hand for the weekend. Food is good but pricey. Tropical fruits were great. Good dining options available in town. Many exotic birds a plus. No fan in the bathroom, but there were TV, phone and fridge/minibar.

The hotel was amazing, the hot springs were fabulous and the staff was super friendly and very helpful. My only complaint was the lack of food options at the hotel. There are two restaurants on site but they were both kind of pricey and the only other food options were a 20 dollar cab ride away! But, the hotel was clean, well kept, and had amazing views and wildlife!

Beautiful location, wonderful staff. There was a sash on the door celebrating my son's birthday and that was wonderful. The rooms were great. If we needed something, someone came by within minutes. It was a bit strange that no one could visit but I guess there were security concerns. We had to go to our friends' hotel, very close by, instead.

We loved Arenal Springs Resort! The staff, view, location, facilities, rooms were all amazing! The only thing I would change would be if they had a more casual/inexpensive dining option. We tried their Italian and sushi and both were great, but the kids wanted more casual stuff during the day like hamburger/fries/pizza/etc.

Rooms were awesome. The property was great. Breakfast Buffet was so good! Prices at the restaurant were just a bit expensive, so we only ate there one night and took a taxi to town the rest of the nights and ate dinner in town.

Restaurant was closed at night and the pizza place was all we had and a little pricey for the limited options!
We had a great stay here and would stay here again!! Used concierge to book early morning sloth tour which was recommended by hotel. Tour was the highlight of our trip. Local family operation with excellent guides, great breakfast, lots of sloths right around town, great scenery, and all around excellent time!!
Older tour guide did not speak any English but he could find sloths, animals, frogs, toucans anteater, like a pro hunter!!! Again the highlight of our vacation!!!! Went to Natura zoo just up the road from hotel and was very disappointed! Not worth the money!

What a beautiful place. I love everything about this hotel. The view of the volcano was amazing. I love it's hot springs. The sushi restaurant being a swimup option was great. If there was one thing I would have liked is more food option. The location was a bit far from town, so we ended up not going to town. But just staying in our hotel. But regardless, it was great.

Lovely hotel. We enjoyed the hot springs and pool immensely. The food was good. The staff was great. The room was fine, but could have been a little more insulated from the sounds of the birds in the morning ... we didn't sleep too well. Not too much else to do there with active children, so we booked an additional Sloth Tour (awesome) and toured the local Nature Ecological Park (great as well).

The hotel was great! It was in the perfect location, not too far from the city only a cheap little taxi ride, and yet still secluded enough to be relaxing. The Springs and variety was great and thankfully we took advantage of the free yoga that was offered every morning in which I would recommend to everyone to kick start the day. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of choices. The staff was very attentive, providing us with anything we requested and even grabbing some fruit off the trees located on the resort which was all different types. It was a beautiful hotel, and the separate villas give you the privacy you desire.

Loved this hotel. The hot springs were nice to sit in at the end of the day and have a drink at the pool bar. The staff were nice. The breakfast was great. We never got to eat in the restaurants other than breakfast. One was too expensive for our group of 7 and the other was always booked. We did most of our eating at the pool bar. The location is close to town.

We absolutely loved Arenal Springs Resort & Spa. The bungalow type rooms were private and very comfortable. Service was exceptional, and we enjoyed every aspect of our stay. We enjoyed the hot spring pools and our the view from our accommodation. The housekeeping staff always surprised us with a new "towel animal" each day. There was a welcome bottle of wine and wind classes on our first day. Most staff were friendly and helpful and took pride in their jobs. However, the front desk help and one of the waiters were not welcoming . Guests should be made aware that it is a twelve dollar taxi ride each way if they want to eat at a restaurant in town. We thought there might have been a hotel shuttle for a nominal charge per person. The hot water in our bathroom was sporadic. I am not sure whether it was a solar tank system. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

A pretty big letdown after Los Altos. The plastic wristband thing is so tacky and a quick turnoff when we arrived. Staff was friendly enough. The value question is due to the restaurant - way overpriced for the quality. Expect resort food to be expensive...but it needs to be good.
You could easily hear conversations of the neighboring room - thank goodness it was my kids.
The place was such a contrast to Los Altos.

The place is beautiful however we had some concerns:
ants in the room
no chair to sit in in the room. we brought the patio furniture inside.
service in Italian restaurant was terrible. We order drinks and salads for before the meal. All was served together.
Buffet breakfast was very nice!
The pool side bar closed early and we had planned our evening to enjoy it, and is really the only thing to do after dinner ( or work out room)
There should be an evening yoga class. there is nothing to do at the hotel after dinner time. We considered the place nice but boring., and somewhat over priced. the welcome drink was a nice touch.

Arenal Springs is a great hotel with an amazing view. The casita style of the rooms make for a quiet experience and each room faces the volcano so there were lots of opportunities to "volcano watch". The staff was very friendly and attentive and our housekeeper gave a thorough cleaning of the room and left us cute towel animals. Food at the buffet for breakfast was abundant and the brick oven pizza was delicious. The grounds and pools were amazing - I could have stayed there all week.

We were looking forward to traditional Costa Rican dishes, but the menu was a strange mix of what it seems they think Americans and Europeans eat at home (spaghetti with hot dogs?). Also super expensive for the quality. Facilities were great. It is a beautiful and unique property.

Arenal Springs Resort was AMAZING! It exceeded our expectations and we loved our stay there. The only drawback for us was the high cost of meals at the restaurants. We had not expected it to be such a high end resort so we were not prepared for that, and it ended up costing us a lot more than we had budgeted for. Going into town for meals was not a good option either as we were a group of 6 and that meant 2 taxis, which would end up costing us so much that it didn't warrant doing that, so we stayed at the resort for meals. It would be good to let people who book Arenal Springs Resort know ahead of time that it is an upscale resort and the food prices will reflect that, so they can be prepared for that. Other than that, it was absolutely perfect!

The beds at this hotel were hard as a board, which is our biggest complaint. We loved the grounds of the hotel, hot springs pool, and the overall room (minus the bed). A challenge we had was that we were "stuck" at the hotel without a car. So we could not explore without paying a lot for a taxi (something we would do differently if we visit Costa Rica again). The hotel staff were nice and helpful throughout our stay.

Staff was great at the front desk & allowed early check in + choice of rooms available. We were able to get a great room up front. We had activities planned during the day, so it was great to relax in the hot springs in the evenings. The grass is so soft, you don't even want to wear shoes. Maids appreciate tips, as we were greeted with towel animal shapes after the first clean-up. Duplex layouts and shrubbery give each room private porches facing the volcano scenery. Excellent full breakfasts.

This was the second hotel that we stayed in CR and the staff was welcoming and friendly. The hot springs were so nice to swim in after the long hike down to La Fortuna waterfall.

I fell into the ditch at the side of the road walking from the office to the room at 9:00 pm, no alcohol involved. More lighting might have been helpful. My shoulder requires surgery as a result of the fall. (Torn rotator cuff tendon)

We loved Arenal Springs - we were upgraded to an incredible room with an outdoor rain forest shower and the food was great. The concierge was not the friendliest, but everyone else was. We had dinner one night at Benedictus too - what a cool place that is!

We loved this hotel and the location, we would definitely come back. Resort was very clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Food was good too, buffet style for breakfast; there was something for everyone. Fruit was fantastic! At night we would go to Italian place for dinner, great steak, pizza..service was exceptional at whole resort - reception, room service, at the restaurants..we were very happy there.

Good choice! Loved the thermal pools! They did a fantastic job treating George on his birthday on Jan. 18th! They created a bed sheet/towel design with a turtle and a small bottle of wine and 2 glasses! Then later when we returned from dinner out they surprised him with a volcano birthday cake that we all enjoyed on the deck in the evening! Very special! Lisa(?) at the desk was always so helpful and patient with me!

Hotel was great, very nice. Staff was terrific. Hot springs were great. We were disappointed in the Sushi bar and the italian restrauant. We eat sushi every week and everywhere we travel. Sushi rolls were made with too much rice and very little fish; over priced for what you got. Italian was really a pizza parlor, limited other selections. Salad was good,very good pizza but I really was looking for an italian dinner.

This place was incredible! We loved our little bungalo and that starfruit drink they served us upon arrival was delicious!

The shower with the metal roof and stone wall behind it that let the rain seep in was really cool, with the live plants in it.

The breakfast was fantastic every single day, and the hotsprings were really nice and relaxing after some of the harder days of activities.

I liked the drink we received as we walked in to resister. The three restaurants were a nice variety. The staff was very accommodating. The view from the room was exceptional. The grounds were well maintained. We enjoyed the hot springs. The birds and the flowers were enjoyable, it was surprising to see that the grass was cut with weed wackers instead of lawn mowers

Overall, a very nice hotel with beautiful grounds. I only had the chance to do yoga once and it was very enjoyable. The staff was also uniformly helpful and nice. My only complaint was that the food at the main restaurant was not up to the quality of the rest of the hotel.

This was a beautiful place, very clean, eco friendly. The juice when we arrived was a nice touch. We enjoyed the pool and hot springs a lot! The laundry service was great & since we got it in early in the morning (they even picked it up at the room) it was back in our rooms when we got back from our tour. Lovely shower!

The room stay much warmer then I would like despite my best efforts. I understand turning the power off when the guest is out of the room for cost reasons, but the room wasn't insulated well (proven by the fact you could easily hear the guests in the next room even though they were only talking at conversational type volume) and this meant the room would revert to basically the outdoor temps. The staff was helpful in being sure we had WIfi connectivity, but the wifi was very slow. Breakfast was tasty, but the tons and tons of flies around the food was very offputting. The swim up bar was great and the bartender was very courteous. The spa staff was wonderful too. I don't know if I would stay here again, but if would only be because the staff as so helpful. Overall the bungalows need some tweaking in comfort (A/C) and amenities (WiFi should be available in ALL with better bandwidth).

Beautiful accommodations. I would have liked to be closer to LaFortuna or had a free shuttle service back and forth there or knowledge of public bus service. I felt somewhat isolated and too dependent upon meal service at the resort which was good but pricey.

We would recommend this to anyone. The restaurant in the pool was our favorite. We talk about it all the time. The only recommendation we would have for this place would be to put an umbrella in each room. At times it was raining so hard we just didn't want to leave the room to get food. It is a decent walk to the facilities. We don't mind the walk, we were just sick of getting rained on. A nice big umbrella would have helped. I know they have them in the lobby, but that didn't quite help us when we were in our room. :)

For a large resort, was very nice, the pool was great. the unique design in the bathroom, where rain itself watered the plants, did allow for a trail of ants in the bathroom, did not really mind. Next time I'd pick a smaller hotel.

The staff was amazing, they were always willing to assist. Very impressed with the grounds of the hotel and pool area with swim-up bar was a real nice feature. Room was very nice and bathroom was impressive. Only negative was that the bed mattress was hard - could have used a mattress topper. Mattress felt like a sheet over concrete. Breakfast buffet was great and we ate at both restaurants - seafood was their best offering. Hotel was a very nice selection, enjoyed the hotel with the exception of the mattresses.

We loved this hotel! The only reason it didn't get a higher score is because the bed was uncomfortable and the lighting in the room was terrible!!! At night, we couldn't see anything in the room. The room was large but there were only 2 small table lamps next to the beds and 2 very dim wall sconces. There was no light at all by the only counter in the room, which is where the coffee pot and fridge are located. Not even enough light to read by. A table lamp on that counter would certainly help. The food and drinks were a little pricey. But we definitely had a great time there.

The food cost was pretty steep at the resturants, but it was excellent food. They kept our bags at the front desk while we had a tour our last day and even let us go back to the pool when we returned and were waiting for our van. there was some work being done on our roof, so that wasn't the most relaxing.

Breakfast were wonderful. At the restaurant, the food quality was great, but overpriced. There were not enough choices for more reasonably priced food. Desk had limited American dollars.
Water was turned off for over an hour and no advance notice provided. Desk should have called the rooms to notify guests.

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. We loved the shower in our room - the rock wall, the plants and the rainwater dipping down the wall. The breakfast buffet selections were very good. We also enjoyed the bar/pool area. My daughter was especially impressed with the flowering plants on the property. Oh yes, the arriving complimentary fruit drink added to the start of our vacation.

Location was great; room was great; hot springs were good. Only problem: because it is so far away from other locations, it would cost $24 plus tip to get a taxi back and forth to somewhere else for dining. The restaurant was very, very expensive and the food was "average" or adequate. (I am comparing this, for example to the food in the restaurant at Sugar Beach--better quality and less expensive. It was nice to have the privacy and smaller numbers of people in the hot springs. The room was great. We could sit on our porch and spot many species of birds. The staff was exceptionally helpful and nice. However, because of the expense of the restaurant, I wouldn't go back.

We would have liked to have stayed here a 3rd day, but no availability. Comfortable rooms, great pool / hot springs! The only downside is that dining options were limited to on-site restaurants. Food was good but expensive - $17 for a small salad. After asking for a vegetarian menu at the main restaurant, we had a wonderful dinner at more reasonable prices. Please encourage travelers to ask for this menu.
