Within a few minutes walk of Hotel Regina, downtown La Fortuna is home to many restaurants, a few bars, local art exhibits, and souvenir and specialty shops. Arenal Volcano looms over the town and access to some of the trails at the base of it are within a 15 minutes drive. Hot springs resorts can be found along the road that goes around the volcano and a plethora of ecotourism activities can be done in the surrounding area. Activities we would recommend for adventurers include canopy zipline, whitewater rafting on the Rio Balsa or Rio Sarapiqui, canyoneering at Pure Trek, or cave exploration at the Venado Caves. For nature, you can take a hike on one of the trails at the base of Arenal Volcano, explore the rainforest canopy at Arenal Hanging Bridges, or go on a safari cruise at the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge. We would also recommend saving some time to visit the La Fortuna Waterfalls, which are nearly 200 feet tall and absolutely beautiful!
The Standard Rooms at the Hotel Regina are basic but clean and comfortable. All rooms offer air-conditioning, cable TV, safe deposit box, and WiFi access.
All in all, this is a great little hotel if you are on a budget and want to be within walking distance to La Fortuna town.
