Overview

Set up on the hillside above the gorgeous Drake Bay coast, El Mirador Lodge is positioned to offer some of the best views in the area. The rustic ecolodge is a great option for budget-conscious travelers looking to explore the wonders of the Osa Peninsula. Lodge amenities include a restaurant that serves three meals daily and tropical gardens.

A 200 meter hike will lead you down to the sea but remember, what goes down must come back up! The beaches of Drake Bay are simply gorgeous. Expect few people, raw beauty, and the occasional troop of monkeys or squawking macaws.

Corcovado National Park is the main attraction in the area, so be sure to schedule a guided tour (additional charge). The San Pedrillo Station is right around the corner by boat from Drake Bay and home to an abundance of wildlife. The Sirena Station of Corcovado is a great upgrade option. This station is more remote and less visited, so your odds of spotting endangered animals is even greater.

The rooms of El Mirador Lodge are basic but clean and comfortable. They offer a bed and fan. Some rooms do not have electricity at night, so we encourage you to bring a flashlight.

NOTES: There is a 25-pound per person baggage-luggage weight restriction for flights or boats to this hotel. It is not possible to drive here. This lodge is located on a steep hillside so guests should be in good physical condition.
