Jinetes was a very good base for this once-in-a-lifetime experience of Osa and Corcovado National Park. ( well maybe we will be back anyway!) How could we know what to expect? Rolando checked us into our room very promptly and explained everything very well. He did also tell us, that once we get to Osa, they need to be able to arrange our activity schedule. Because of the govt regulations limiting daily numbers of visitors to Corcovado, they need to be able to adjust their daily tour schedules. Just letting you know this, because you might have to tell clients that dates for Corcovado and snorkel tours might have to be marked TBA. We were fine to just roll with it, and change our tour schedule as needed. Our room was right down at the water, lots of space, and the housekeeping staff work hard to keep it clean. Again, nice high ceilings and fans provided to keep it cool as possible. We took most of our meals at the hotel’s Kalaluna restaurant so we really enjoyed getting familiar with most of their menu. They also sometimes added wonderful little starter salads or desserts on the house for us. This hotel is in such a great spot on Drake Bay for seeing the sun come up. We were just fascinated being right in the thick of the lowland rainforest too.

Beds were creaky such that when we moved in our sleep there was noise. Great bathroom. Nice big room. Staff was very helpful carrying our luggage up all the stairs!!! However, since we were up so many stairs, we definitely thought carefully about when we would go up and down (for instance, in the morning, we brushed our teeth before breakfast rather than climbing back to the room to do so after breakfast).

A little dirty, but expected with an eco lodge. More bugs in room, but nice location to beach.

Amazingly beautiful! We had done so much hiking daily that the steps were the last thing we wanted, so worth every step! Lol rode to be complete next year with a pool!

If this hotel was updated to provide air conditioning in all rooms then would have 10 for everything but it is very uncomfortable to sleep with only a fan. Otherwise this is a wonderful place

Really nice place to stay. Great food as well.

The position was great, overlooking the sea. The bed linen could be improved.

The young men carrying luggage across the beach and up the 171 stairs-IMPRESSIVE.
Very glad we stayed with air conditioning but the stairs were really difficult after a full day of activities.
Important to seek out hotel manager for questions about day activities and recommendations.

Only reason I rated comfort an 8 was because we didn't have a/c, and we really could've used it.

The hotel staff was amazing which counteracted the 180 steps to the room!
