In a small community located in Bajos del Toro you will find the unique and noted El Silencio Lodge and Spa. The sublime lodge is placed on a 500 acre private reserve within a cloud forest. They feature a full service spa, organic restaurant, hiking trails and internet access along with well-appointed and comfortable accommodations. The minimum age requirement for a guest is eight years old.
While you are there you may want to venture off of the grounds for one the area's finest tours. La Paz Waterfall Gardens Tour is considered an extraordinary tour of one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Or perhaps you are in the mood for something more athletic and challenging then you would like a canopy tour, a high speed zipline that allows you an overall view of the rain forest. This tour is a half day and includes transportation, guide and equipment.
El Silencio Lodge and Spa is a wonderful place just to relax and take in the beauty of your accommodations, the surrounding flora and fauna, wildlife and the spa. If you practice yoga they have a studio in the middle of the forest close enough to where you will hear the soothing sound of the river that surrounds the spa. They also offer daily complimentary wellness classes. Or you can just unwind at the spa which offers relaxing and nourishing, healing treatments. In the evening enjoy dinner in the organic restaurant where they serve Costa Rican food with a flare made from the best local organic ingredients.
Your accommodations will be one of the highlights of your stay. Each Suite is strategically placed in an area of the forest that would most enhance your view of the mountains and river. And all include luxurious amenities.
The Luxury Suite is a comfortable one bedroom utopia for relaxation. Sleep on a pillow top king-sized bed and the included two twin day beds will opt for other guest's sleeping or your day time relaxing. You will also have a private deck furnished with rocking chairs and a wonderful view of the forest. Each suite also includes a heated outdoor jet pool, refrigerator, telephone, safety deposit box, hair dryer, and top tier personal care products.
Riverside Suites are also furnished with one king-size pillow top bed and two twin sized day beds. The main difference in the Riverside and the Luxury is the view, the close proximity to the main lodge and complimentary WiFi. While rocking and relaxing on your private deck your view will include the river and the sounds of flowing water. As well as the other suites the same amenities are included.
The newest and largest of accommodations at El Silencio Lodge & Spa are the Private Villas perfectly located for wonderful views and surrounded by forest. Each has a master bedroom furnished with a king-sized bed and full bathroom.
The second bedroom has two full beds and their own private bathroom. Perfect for vacationing families, or anyone who enjoys plenty of space. Private Villas offer exclusive amenities such as, high speed WiFi, satellite television, writing desks, top of the market biodegradable personal care products, and your own private parking area.

Hotel was excellent and was an Oasis in the rainforest. We enjoyed it very much with the only negatives being the restaurant staff being too rushed at times and the hotel room heater being kind of loud since it had to service both the sleeping area and bathroom (which always was cool). But these were minor issues.

Terrific place to stay in. By far, our best lodging experience during this vacation. Everything was top notch - the staff, restaurant, activities, natural walks in the area. Too bad we only had two nights there!
