Koora Monteverde Boutique Hotel is Monteverde's newest luxurious eco-friendly lodge. Located next to the Aguti Reserve and within a five-minute drive to the small Monteverde center, the small lodge combines a perfectly natural cloud forest experience with near-town convenience. Lodge amenities include a private reserve and trails, a restaurant and bar, tropical gardens, air conditioning, heated pools, and free WiFi access in designated areas.
Monteverde is the ideal location to explore the cloud forest and for highland birdwatching. Home to rare and exotic species such as the Resplendent Quetzal, Emerald Toucanette, Bellbirds, and many other species, Monteverde is a birdwatcher's dream destination! It is also home to some of the best canopy tours in the world, Adventurers will love the thrill of the canopy zipline, while those seeking a slower pace can hike through the treetops on one of the area's amazing hanging bridges tours. Of course, you can also spend quality time walking along the Aguiti Reserve's four kilometers of self-guided trails.
Perched on a hill overlooking cloud forest, the town, and further down to the Gulf of Nicoya (on clear days), the views from Koora Monteverde Hotel are spectacular! The restaurant and bar are positioned to take advantage of the amazing sunsets that Monteverde is famous for. Imagine sipping a tropical concoction while listening to the sounds of the forest and watching the beautiful sunset over the cloud forest-covered hills...
The bar and restaurant are conveniently located near the front desk. The views are spectacular and the food is tasty! There are two main options for breakfast; an American-style breakfast, or gallo pinto, a traditional Costa Rican breakfast. The restaurant, serving a fusion of perfectly balanced foods, re-opens for lunch at noon, and again at 6:00 pm for dinner. The bar offers a selection of signature cocktails, cervezas, and a magical place to take in the sunset!
Koora Monteverde Boutique Hotel offers a total of 26 rooms, including 10 suites, 6 bungalows, and 10 forest rooms set on a forested hillside. Suites are located at the main building and Bungalows are distributed along the property. The Family Suite is the largest, with a capacity of 6 guests. This room has two private bedrooms and two bathrooms, a mezzanine, a living room, a minibar, and amazing views. Junior Suites are a little smaller and come equipped with a mezzanine, one and a half bathrooms, mini bar, and provide beautiful views. The Lodge has 6 private bungalow-style rooms, 4 of which are two stories and 2 of which are one-story. The bungalow rooms are set in the forest, offering ample space, amazing views, and a magical cloud forest experience. There is one Double Deluxe Bungalow with views of the Gulf of Nicoya. This room is ideal for honeymooners or a romantic stay - the views are gorgeous!

The hotel was very nice but too much of a hike to town so we had to take taxis every evening for dinner. The breakfast and views were great from the hotel restaurant. And the hike nearby was fabulous with many animals to be seen. It would be nice though if the hotel let us control the air conditioning as our room was very humid and our clothes wouldn't dry and everything just felt damp in that climate.

this place was BOMB. i have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and the sense of welcome and belonging the entire staff exhibits is world class. We wanted to try to remember all the staff that were standouts but every singe one was so we hope that suffices. Literally everyone is a gem. THANK YOU for this pick.

What a cute hotel! I loved that we felt like we were in our own treehouse! The staff was excellent and they served the best hot cocoa! We took the opportunity to hike the Aguti reserve which cost nothing and is right next to the hotel. The view from our bungalow was amazing, we could see the pacific ocean. I am so thrilled that you gave us the opportunity to experience this hotel!

The beds were not very comfortable. There was no Central AC or heat. The hotel provided space heaters and luckily it was not hot. We had a great time and the staff was wonderful!

Kenneth the front desk guy was SUPER helpful. We didn't get our PCR results and he made a bunch of phone calls and got everything straightened out. The room is amazing, lots of steps tho! Bugs, but that's the rainforest. Breakfast was great. I would stay here again.

Koora Monteverde is a hidden treasure! The setting high on the hill, the reserve which is right outside the door, the long views toward the bay and the friendly staff were outstanding!! This was a favorite place in our visit - we loved the temperature too. The staff is so hard working and helpful in every way, we would come back for sure! We wished we could have stayed longer:-)

Very spacious, quiet, comfortable rooms with views and lots of privacy. The place is pretty new so they have some wierd quirks, like no furniture on the terrace, and only a rocking chair in the room. Limits the ability to have a drink and a snack on the deck. They should put a door on the downstairs bdrm, not sure the point in having it all open plan. They only give you one key and if you lose it or forget it in the room - its kind of a problem. The food was good and reasonably priced, the service was earnest but they often had staff doing multiple roles, however it was not busy when we were there. Overall this place worked for us and we enjoyed being there, but it was pretty pricey and not actually luxurious (but very very nice all the same)

Overall a very nice and new hotel. Air conditioning in the room would have been nice during the day but we understand that it is cold at night. The lunch and breakfast meals were better than the evening meals. Not too hard to walk into town but too steep to walk back to the hotel. Taxis however were easy to find and inexpensive

EVERYONE was so nice and accommodating. Our friends came down with the flu and the entire staff was worried about them. It was like staying with family but better. :)

The staff was very personable and great. Our accommodations were very clean. The staff went out of their way to take us on a night walk and even take the time to bring a telescope to enable us to clearly see a sloth at night. The staff went over and above our expectations. The only negative would be that we felt the dinner prices were too high for the quality of food served.
