It is very easy to hear your neighbors and other hotel guests, so we could hear the kids screaming next door and somebody who was sick all night. However, the area is beautiful, convenient, and the room was great.

For what you are paying it’s reasonable. The door to the room had cracks all around it so our room was constantly filled with bugs. It was also much smaller than anticipated and did not have a fridge. A good budget option but I would have payed a bit more money for more luxury. The restaurant is very reasonably priced though and staff were excellent.

Fairly basic, but very comfortable room.

My room door to the outside had gaps in it and was very flimsy. I could hear everything happening outside and next door where people were pretty loud. Because of all that, it didn't feel secure and there was a lack of privacy. On the good side, breakfast was great and the grounds around the hotel are beautiful.

Beautiful hotel, excellent service, friendly staff. Restaurant okay. A little out of the way, could not easily walk to shopping, especially if you're older.

Very happy with the service provided. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful. The staff at the hotel manage to prepare breakfast just for us since we were leaving very early (5:30am)

This was the worst of all the hotels. Although it looks great the walls are so thin you can hear everything from the room next door. Breakfast a bit chaotic, one morning it was great but the second, when it was a lot less busy, we had to almost force them to bring us coffee.

Overall we had a lovely time at this lodge, don't understand the lower reviews we saw online. The only thing was we didn't sleep as well, probably due to a bit of draft from the door and windows. But we really enjoyed our stay and really liked the service at the restaurant.

The grounds of the lodge were also very nice and the restaurant food and staff were great.

Our reservation was changed from this lodge to Poco A Poco resort in Santa Elena. We had a gorgeous room above the office. The view was tranquil. The room was very modern and Rob and I enjoyed our stay. We used the pool and the jacuzzi. The staff was attentive and friendly. We liked that we could walk into the town and explore, shop, and eat. All 10’s for this resort.

We loved this hotel. The staff were excellent, specifically at the restaurant and front desk. The ambiance was excellent with a rustic feel, and yet beautiful grounds to sit and read. We particularly loved the little Italian style garden next to the restaurant. We also really liked the quality and variety of the menu at the restaurant, including the price. We will be highly recommending this place to other friends and hopefully can stay there again

This hotel was beautiful! The staff, especially in the restaurant were amazing. The only issues here were:
1. Room walls didn't stop any sound - the guy next to us snored so loud all night he woke us up...I feel sorry for his wife!
2. Shower was great, but having only a half door allowed water to go out of the shower onto the floor making the bathroom floor very wet.

Restaurant experience was great and good value so we didn't have to eat anywhere else. Hotel staff were very good in accommodating our requests. Would definitely stay here again.

The only reason I didn't choose 10's everywhere was because the room was very cold and no heaters were available for the rooms. The one they did have didn't work.

I would of arranged all of the beds to face the TV. If possible have ceiling fans in the rooms.

Very humid in the room, but better once we got a new 'dehumidifier/fan'. One bed was in a darker area of the room and did not have a bedside table or lamp, so we didn't use it. Otherwise, beautiful facilities and grounds. Nice breakfast.

The hotel was nice and we like the restaurant. Within walking distance to several great places. We went to town, headed the other direction and found Stella's bakery (highly recommended) and then down the hill to some great jungle trails with waterfalls and views.

The Monteverde Country Lodge was my least favorite accommodation on this trip. It was fine, except for the breakfast experience every morning. The dining room was overcrowded and we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. On the last morning we got so frustrated that we took our breakfast outside despite the wind and cold. Also, the staff in the dining room at breakfast time seemed overwhelmed by the onslaught of guests and couldn't keep up. The food ran out. The coffee ran out. Etc. And then you had to wait for it to be replenished. A little chaotic, I thought.

No wifi in room. Wifi only available in restaurant and lobby. Very disappointed especially because it rained for 2 days so I was in my room. I don't think the website about the hotel mentioned no wifi in rooms.

Only issue was the sound barrier between rooms was very thin. I could hear the kids next door talking.

Beautiful hotel, so clean so convenient location. However, there's no insulation so we could hear everything. But I guess it's eco friendly hotel so it's perfect. Beautiful, peaceful place.

Beautiful hotel but the beds were not comfortable at all. Plus, the sound proofing in the room was very poor quality. We could hear everything that was going on outside down in the courtyard and the wind was extremely loud at night that it kept us up. Other than that the location was nice and the breakfast was delicious.

This lodge was a little walk from the town but I'm a very nice area. There was wonderful hiking trails about 5 minutes away where we go to interact with many anaimals. There was always a lice band at meals which was meat.

Ok hotel. Best part was the location since we could walk in both directions easily on our free days. Also didn't know that cheese factory does not make cheese on Wednesday's so we walked over for a tour that day for nothing.

The rooms very clean and attractive, with very comfortable beds. Food was pretty good and staff courteous and helpful. Facility had no pool or hot tub, and offered no view of area. However found some good restaurants and museum nearby.

Did not sleep well the first night due to howling wind and noisy neighbours. Hotel was nice but nothing special. Staff were the best, very welcoming. Seeing many birds on the premises was great, and being able to easily walk to Saint Elena was great.

The hotel catered to large bus groups which made it difficult to impossible to find a place to sit for a meal or drink. The grounds are pretty and welcoming, but not for a couple with large groups. The rooms were very comfortable.

The hotel was very good. My only mention is that my room was close to a small courtyard behind the restaurant and reception and the first night there was some kind of entertainment going on and it was pretty loud in the room, other than that it was excellent.

Very average after Arenal Springs. The transportation by boat to the hotel was lovely but embarking and disembarking with luggage was quite difficult and I had a fall.

This is a peaceful rustic lodge in the mountains. It is located near town so I could walk there. The meals were excellent and the breakfast that was provided was copious.
