El Manantial Lodge is an eco-lodge and bird watcher’s paradise, as it is situated in the mountains of San Gerardo de Dota, Costa Rica.  This area is home to the world famous, Cloud Forest, an area that is inhabited by hundreds of different species of life.  This ecologically focused lodge provides budget friendly accommodation and ultimately brings guests up close and personal with the natural world. Hotel amenities include restaurant, and nature trails.

At El Manantial Lodge visitors can take walks through the private trails and watch as the world moves around them.  There’s an abundance of all types of birds, reptiles, mammals, and insects, so guests have the opportunity to see some of the most sought after species in the world.

The San Gerardo de Dota has some of the best highland hiking in the country.  Additionally, trout fishing, birdwatching, hiking to waterfalls, and other activities are available to guests of the ecolodge.

For accommodation, the lodge offers a Standard Room. This room includes, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), private bathroom and hot water.

This was our least favourite venue. It was very cold in the area and also in the hotel, as we were the only guests and they probably didn't think it worthwhile putting the fires on for us. I'm sure it would be nice when it's high season but it felt a bit strange being there then.
