The Rio Chirripo Lodge is surrounded by cloud forest and is well off-the-beaten-path. You can go hiking or even trail running on paths through the cloud forest. Birdwatching can be amazing in this area and especially at the nearby Cloudbridge Reserve or Los Cusingos Bird Sanctuary. Birds you might see include many species of hummingbirds, resplendent quetzals, emerald toucanet or fiery-billed aracari, and many other highland and cloud forest species. Adventure activities include ATV or horse riding, whitewater rafting, and even paragliding. We also encourage you to explore the local area and culture. the people in this area are always wearing a smile and are eager to share their paradise with you!
The lodges Rio Spa offers a wide variety of massages and spa treatments. They only use local, natural, organic products for your wellness. Treatments should be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Can you imagine a spa service in such an amazing setting as you listen to the flowing river and tropical birds chirping outside?
The restaurant at Rio Chirripo Lodge will delight your taste buds with delicious meals prepared with local, fresh, and organic ingredients. A buffet-style breakfast is included with your stay, with your choice of coked to order eggs, gallo pinto, homemade granola, yogurt, cheeses, and more. The lunch and dinner menu are creatively decided daily based on the available ingredients! Meals are typically prepared vegetarian, but local chicken or fish is available with advance request.
Rooms and Suites at Rio Chirripo Lodge and Retreat are all unique and tastefully appointed. The 742 sqft Guanacaste Suite is a large room with a king and queen size beds and amazing views of the forest. It offers a kitchenette with a dining table, balcony, couch, and WiFi. The 600 sqft casa Cafe is a casita with a queen and double bed. It also has a kitchenette and dining table, a balcony, and a couch. The 462 sqft River Cabin offers wonderful views of the river and forest. This room has a queen-size bed, balcony, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and WiFi. The 596 sqft Rio Vista Room is set right by the river but requires a little hiking to access. This room has two double beds, a kitchenette, a beautiful balcony with a table and chairs and amazing views, and WiFi. The 350 sqft Ceibas Rooms are on the second floor with a balcony and amazing views. these rooms have either a king or 2 single beds and tasteful decor.
