Sarchi is located approximately 23 kilometers northwest of the capital city of San Jose in the Province of Alajuela. Poas Volcano is one of the 7 active volcanoes in Costa Rica. It is located within an hours drive from Sarchi. A day trip to this geological marvel is a must during your stay in Sarchi. Other attractions include the many coffee plantations that surround the pueblo. A day trip to Zoo Ave or nearby La Paz Waterfalls & Gardens (Temporarily Closed) is another day well spent.
