The Hacienda Baru Center is a famous spot for travelers to visit because there is so much to see and do. This is your chance to recreate those memories but this time climbing trees the same height as a ten-story building, easy to find in a country like Costa Rica where the land is abundant with massive old-growth trees. The good quality safety equipment and trained adventure guides at Hacienda Baru make this a very safe activity to boot.
The tour starts off with a 40 minute hike through a cacao plantation and the secondary rainforest. Your guide will most likely fascinate you with facts about the area and spot birds flying overhead or creatures hiding in the forest canopy. You’ll hike until you reach the giant rainforest tree, waiting to reveal its impressive intricacies, normally overlooked during regular nature hikes.
Your guides will fit you with high-quality harnesses and helmets while pumping you up for this tree climbing adventure. Two at a time, you’ll use your entire body to slowly and steadily make your way up to the top. Your bilingual and professional guide will be at the bottom encouraging you, and more importantly holding the belay rope to ensure you are always safe and secure during your climb.
This half-day tour can be strenuous for some people as you have to use your whole body to climb, however, it does not require a lot of strength. Please bring secure shoes, bug repellant, comfortable clothes, camera and a sense of adventure.
