Costa Rica October

Costa Rica October Weather:

The Temporales del  Pacifico continue to plague the southern Pacific coastal region with heavy rains that  last all day.  But the southern Caribbean coastal region (less than 100 miles to the east) are loving their sunny dry weather! Both regions continue to have temperatures in the 80’s to 90’s, but you will enjoy the southern Caribbean at this time of year more than any other time of the year.  The northern Caribbean region is not as dry as the southern region in October, but still drier than the Pacific coastal region.

The Pacific northern coast, along with the Central Valley and higher elevations will still have rain most every day, but most days will start sunny with rain developing in the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will be in the 80’s to 90’s, with San Jose about 10 degrees less, and higher elevations about 20 degrees less.

October is still in the “wet season” for most of Costa Rica, but you can enjoy fewer tourists and lower prices, so you may be able to do more with less!

Costa Rica October Reservations:

It is the green season and getting reservations will not be difficult, but reserving early will assure the best deals. Check before making travel plans to the Osa Peninsula as many hotels close for this month due to the heavy rains. If your plans include the southern Caribbean area, book earlier as this is one of the driest regions in Costa Rica this month and people are starting to know it!

Costa Rica October Costs:

You will still enjoy green season pricing saving you about 20 - 40% off high season prices. Book early to grab the best deals!
