Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport (contact us for details if arriving at other airport), you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Pacific Trade Winds representative. Transportation will be provided to the San Lorenzo Cloud Forest which is a birdwatchers paradise. During your visit to the San Lorenzo Cloud Forest, you will stay at Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel. Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel is an elegant mountain retreat located near San Ramon in the Los Angeles Private Biological Reserve. Hotel amenities include jacuzzi, restaurant, bar, spa, hiking trails, game room, mini gym, conference room, and internet. Day 2 A professional bilingual guide will take you through the cloud forest and gentle sloping pastures on a quest to spot some of the 258 local species of birds, including Orange-bellied Trogons, keel-billed toucans and dozens of others. Birds that have all but disappeared in other areas can still find sanctuary in some of the protected parts of the property. This fun filled excursion includes professional bilingual guide. |
Day 3Villa Blanca is for the adventurous sort, those who seek to enjoy other natural wonders found high above the Coastline in the pristine mountain landscape of Costa Rica’s famous Cloud Forest Reserves and Volcano National Parks, so get out your hiking boots and don’t forget your camera. From guided nature walks in our private jungle reserve to volcanic park excursions, we’ll share with you the other side of Costa Rica from our ideal vantage point here in San Ramon of Alajuela. |
Day 4 Transportation will be provided to the Arenal Volcano area which is not only one of the most beautiful destinations in Central America, but also the Adventure Capital. During your visit to the Arenal Volcano area, you will stay at Hotel Royal Corin. The 5 Star Hotel Royal Corin and Loto Spa is located in the shadow of Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna. Hotel amenities include hot spring fed swimming pools, restaurant, bar, event room, internet access, and tropical gardens. While at Hotel Royal Corin you will enjoy a Standard Room - 3 x 2 Special. Day 5 The Cano Negro Riverboat Safari is an amazing experience and opportunity to see numerous species of wildlife. The refuge is home to one of the largest populations of caimans, which can be observed at nearly every turn! It’s not only reptiles though as the area is also home to both spider monkeys and congo monkeys which can be heard howling from miles away. Birdwatchers will delight as hundreds of species either live here or migrate through including toucans, roseate spoonbills and trogons. This fun filled safari includes transportation, bilingual naturalist guide, and lunch. |
Day 6 The Hanging Bridges offer an amazing glimpse into the canopy of the rainforest! The hike includes terrestrial trails and bridges through the tree tops allowing you to view the forest from all perspectives. This fun filled half day tour includes guides, transportation, and entrance to the private reserve. |
Day 7 Transportation will be provided to Mal Pais which is home to some of the most beautiful palm studded beaches in Costa Rica which are excellent for surfing. During your visit to Mal Pais, you will stay at Pranamar Oceanfront Villas and Yoga Retreat. Pranamar Oceanfront Villas and Yoga Retreat is an amazing villa style hotel located on the beach of Santa Teresa. The elegantly designed villas were built with Costa Rican hardwoods, bamboo and plenty of windows and doors, inviting guests to enjoy nature and ocean views in an intimate setting. Day 8 Beach day at Mal Pais. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 9 Cabo Blanco National Park guided tour. Cabo Blanco was the first national park created in Costa Rica. The park is home to 2 species of monkeys, sloths and many other endangered species. With a little luck and cooperation from Mother Nature, your bilingual naturalist guide will point out wildlife such as these and others. Park is closed on Mondays. This half day 3.5 hour tour includes transportation, bilingual guide, and drinks. |
Day 10 Another Mal Pais beach day. You can sit back, relax, and perfect that tropical tan, or contact us for choices of an added activity. |
Day 11 The Tortuga Island Boat Ride and Snorkeling adventure is an amazing experience! The tour starts with a scenic cruise along the Gulf of Nicoya for a 50 minute voyage to Tortuga Island. Dolphins, manta rays or humpback whales are just a few examples of the marine life frequently viewed along the way to the island. Upon arriving to the tropical paradise of Tortuga Island you will anchor for your first snorkeling session. This area is surrounded by volcanic rocks, crystal waters and vibrant tropical coral reefs which is home some of the best snorkeling on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast. After snorkeling, you will continue to the white sand beach of Tortuga Island. Kayak rentals and additional snorkeling available. This fun filled full day excursion includes transportation, guide, snorkeling equipment, drinks, and meal. |
Day 12Beach day at Mal Pais. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tropical sun on the palm studded beaches of the Pacific coast. |
Day 13 Transportation will be provided to Escazu. During your visit to Escazu, you will stay at Hotel Beacon Escazu. Hotel Beacon Escazu is a luxurious, yet comfortable boutique style hotel located in Escazu. Hotel amenities include restaurant, bar, swimming pool, spa, fitness center, concierge service, and internet. While at Hotel Beacon Escazu you will enjoy a Deluxe Room. Day 14 Final Day — All good things must come to an end, though memories last a lifetime. Transportation will be provided back to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive three hours prior to your departure flight. ¡Pura Vida! |
