This is a rare opportunity for guests staying at the Savegre Mountain Hotel to go for a guided hike through the cloud forest. Home to the rare Resplendent Quetzal and other exotic birds found at this high-altitude elevation, the park also hosts habitats for a variety of mammals such as Spider monkeys and sleeping sloths as well as orchids and other interesting flowering epiphytes. Standing on top of the mountains of the Continental Divide, you’ll have an excellent opportunity for spectacular views of different regions of the country. The tour includes a bilingual naturalist guide. It is only for guests staying at the Savegre Mountain Hotel. Please wear completely enclosed hiking shoes and bring insect repellent, rain gear, bottled water, (snacks if you like), binoculars, and your camera. This is a high-altitude hike so you may want to bring a jacket as well. You’ll likely want to capture all the unforgettable memories in this misty, mountaintop. No transportation is needed from Savegre Mountain Hotel. Transportation is not included from other area hotels.

Today you will be going on a private full day bird watching expedition led by the resident guide at the Severge Mountain Hotel. You’ll explore the surrounding lush cloud forest, hiking on natural trails while looking for the rare Resplendent Quetzal among over 200 other tropical birds living in the area. You will likely come across other forms of wildlife and your guide will be sure to point out various plant species, such as orchids and other epiphytes. This tour includes a bilingual naturalist guide and is only available to hotel guests. You’ll hike approximately 3 to 4 hours beginning and ending at the hotel’s reception area. Please wear enclosed hiking shoes and bring along your raincoat, camera, binoculars or any other spotting gear. No transportation is needed from Savegre Mountain Hotel.
