Drake Bay, Costa Rica is considered to be a family friendly beach side village. It is known for it's beautiful white sand beaches that are lined with coconut bearing palm trees. Drake Bay was discovered by none other that Sir Francis Drake in 1579. It is considered to be the gateway to Corcovado National Park. This area is one of the most inaccessable areas in Costa Rica, but well worth the time.
Drake Bay is located on the southwest Osa Peninsula in the Province of Puntarenas. The weather is fairly predictable here. Weather is best from December through April, during the dry season months. The months of May through November generally experience higher rainfall totals, with the highest amounts received between August through September.

Many visitors to Drake Bay come not only for the beautiful beaches, but also for the incredible biodiversity of the Osa Peninsula. Corcovado National Park borders Drake Bay. This park is home to numerous endangered species including (but certainly not limited to) jaguars, monkeys, toucans, and macaws.
