Liberia, Costa Rica is the home of Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR). This is one of two International Costa Rica Airports. Liberia is also the capital of the Guanacaste Province. The city is fairly safe, but is known for petty theft. The city is also known for it's many Victorian style houses that are painted white.

Liberia, Costa Rica is located in the northwest corner of Costa Rica in the Guanacaste Province. The climate in this region is the dryest in the country. The weather in Liberia is fairly predictable. Weather is best from December through April, during the dry season months. The months of May through November generally experience higher rainfall totals, with the highest amounts received between August through September.

Liberia is located close to several of Costa Rica's popular attractions. These attractions include Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and national park to the northwest. Santa Rosa National Park is also located within a short drive. Many of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches are located within an hour as well.
