Perez Zeledon, Costa Rica is actually a section of the city San Isidro de General. However, locals adoringly call the entire city Perez Zeledon. This is a safe and clean city. It is also an important trade zone where people meet from Northern and Southern Costa Rica. Travelers must pass through the Cerro de la Muerte (Mountain of Death) to reach San Isidro. This is part of the Pan-American highway which goes over mountains and into clouds well over 3,000 meters in elevation. The winding roads and thick fog makes this a cool and dangerous trip at times.
Perez Zeledon is located in the Talamanca Mountain range approximately 134 kilometers souteast of the capital city San Jose in the Province of San Jose. The weather in Perez Zeledon is fairly predictable. Weather is best from December through April, during the dry season months. The months of May through November generally experience higher rainfall totals, with the highest amounts received between August through September.

These attractions include Cerro Chirripo, which is Costa Rica's highest summit and most challenging climb. Another top attraction is the Diamante Waterfalls, which can be experienced on a day trip or overnight in a cave!
