Sierpe, Costa Rica is often described as "The gateway to the Osa Peninsula". The town is both family friendly and safe. Most tourists utilize this sleepy town as a stop over on the way to and from Drake Bay and Corcovado National Park. The town itself is located on a small peninsula which is surrounded by the Sierpe Mangrove system. Most villagers of Sierpe are fisherman or farmers.
Sierpe is located in the Puntarenas Province in Southern Costa Rica. The weather is fairly predictable here. Weather is best from December through April, during the dry season months. The months of May through November generally experience higher rainfall totals, with the highest amounts received between August through September.

Many visitors to Sierpe come for the incredible biodiversity of the Osa Peninsula and Corcovado National Park. This park is home to numerous endangered species including (but certainly not limited to) jaguars, monkeys, toucans, and macaws.
A pass through Sierpe is not complete without stopping for lunch or dinner at Los Vagos Restaurant, located across the street from the soccer field (Not to be confused with Las Vegas Restaurant on the river). Do not be fooled by the plastic tables and chairs! Your hosts, Emi and David, will delight your tastebuds and provide plenty of laughs at this Italian eatery. The Los Vagos Restaurant in Sierpe is our staffs highest recommendation in Costa Rica for a casual meal!
