Best place for us. Recommend include some of Baru's own tours in 3-day stays. Better value in these than in anything else we tried i CR.

Wonderful surrounds, pool and better food than expected also. Being able to walk to the beach was a huge delight. We saw sloth here and other wildlife. Yes, the lack of A/C is noticed but the fans and pool and being distracted by beauty make up for it. We also did the zip line tour which was really nice and full of wildlife to see also. Very safe. Peaceful even (for an adventure).

We loved this place. The only reason I am giving a slightly lower score for comfort is that the beds are kind of hard and there is no air conditioning. Just good for people to be aware.

Great beach and lots of monkeys. A really good guide and tour here.

Really great for seeing wild life and excursions. Not so great on the purely hotel aspects (especially the food). We were prepared for this so we still enjoyed our stay here.

Really hot (no AC), the beds were hard and the sheets were terrible -- scratchy and stiff -- so it was difficult to sleep. Finally borrowed an extra fan from the front desk for a little relief. Loved the pool (had it all to ourselves) but there really wasn't much else to do here. The butterfly garden was empty except for two birds that had eaten all the butterflies! The restaurant was so-so, with few options. The beach wasn't inviting and required a long drive over a very poor road to get to it. We left a day early.

The quality of the food in the restaurant was mediocre (both breakfast and dinner).

Enjoyed our stay here. Appreciate the educational concept of the hotel. Limited eating opportunities w/o a car.

Great location in nature reserve. Reception staff not as helpful as other hotels

All Excellent. Truly appreciated the generously sized cabins with cooking areas, laundry service, towels, pool, many trails to explore, well stocked gift shop, great restaurant and menu, kindness and tolerance of people who have limited Spanish skills. All the staff were very excited to be sure we had a full, wonderful experience. I would stay here again.
