Occidental was a good hotel but had limited activities poolside and the Buffett was mediocre. We dined at two Ala Carte restaurants while we were there, the Steak House and the Italian Restaurant. Both meals were good and the Lasagna at the Italian restaurant was excellent. Property was expansive and it felt as though you were there with little number of guests. We had three in our party, My wife, myself and my adult son but when we checked in the they were not able to put us together in the same building and we tried to address the situation but was told that our request could only be addressed with a Manager and that the Manager would not be on duty to late afternoon. Not acceptable. There should always be a Manager on duty during normal business hours to address issues that arise. Bartenders were very limited in their ability to make different type of drinks. Overall our stay was relaxing and confortable.

Food and alcohol not the best but good enough

Disappointed about this property. Pros: beautiful property, great view from room, cheap prices for spa. Cons: food was not good and made us sick, language barrier with some of the staff, service was not consistent, forgot to give us our room keys upon check in, lounge chairs are extremely uncomfortable, parts of the premium level perks were forgotten - I had to ask to have our mini fridge stocked, beach did not have loungers, the hotel's transportation to go somewhere was expensive
