Borinquen Mountain Resort is a luxury ecolodge on an amazing property with hot spring fed pools. Located in the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and National Park region, Borinquen is an ideal lodge to use as a base for exploring this off the beaten path area. Rincon de la Vieja National Park is the main attraction of the area. This is one of the active volcanoes in Costa Rica. Nice place and great adventure staff. The food was average and food service was very poor. No wifi in the room, which was not that important, as I grabbed a book out of the lobby.

The hotel grounds and the rooms are very nice but overall the Hotel is getting tired in some areas and needs some TLC in areas. The staff try very hard to provide an excellent service but overall the hotel is struggling to keep up a 4 star level on all fronts. Still a very nice quiet and friendly hotel.

Our room was incredible - we loved it. But there was a very bad storm while we were there. No power for two days and we couldn't use the pools and our activities were cancelled. We know that couldn't be helped.

Beautiful resort. Saw a ton of monkeys while sitting in the natural hot springs. Very relaxing and a beautiful experience. My only frustration was how far from the national park the resort is, which made getting there very difficult.
