The Trogon Lodge is a mountain lodge, located in Costa Rica’s famous, Cloud Forest. This is an ecolodge with some of the best birdwatching scenes in the entire country, allowing wildlife fanatics to get their fill of rare sights. The area is called San Gerardo de Dota, an area of the Cloud Forest that is home to hundreds of different species. Hotel amenities include trout pond, restaurant, bar, nature trails, conference room, and internet.
Located in the mountains of Costa Rica, The Trogon Lodge offers some of the most pure landscapes in all of Central America. Far from the tourist crowds of the beach Trogon allows guests to enjoy the natural beauty of Mother Nature. The hotel property is vast, so guests can explore the property during the day, or enjoy a delicious meal in the lodge’s restaurant.
Birds, mountains, jungle, what else could one ask for? The tours of this area are incredibly exciting and interesting. For those dare devils, we recommend a zip-line tour, or for those adventure enthusiasts should take a horseback tour through the jungle to the waterfall. We recommend taking an adventure into the Cloud Forest, for the birdwatching, sights and sounds of this mountainous region are absolutely incomparable.
As for room accommodation, guests can choose from two types of room. The Standard Room feature, breakfast, a heating system and views of the river Savegre or forest.
The Standard Superior includes, breakfast, a heating system and views of the river Savegre or forest. These rooms are larger than the Standards.
Visitors to the Cloud Forest and San Gerardo de Dota area should definitely look into a stay at the Trogon Lodge, for they provide excellent service and a front row seat to all of the action of the cloud forest. In short, this is a great hotel accommodation for the outdoorsy type. As apposed to a giant resort, these rooms are more cabin-like, but still offer a cozy atmosphere.

Beautiful place. Staff was great, especially Gravin who one evening personally fixed our water heater very quickly.

Trogon is a magical place. I was hesitant when we learned how cold it would be but I would go back in a heartbeat. We loved how quiet and calming and beautiful the place was. Also, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. This place far exceeded our expectations. The staff was very kind and friendly and we loved the bar also. One tip: game in the bar would have been nice.

This place was amazing. The gardens were spectacular and it was just so relaxing. The staff were not entirely clear on when we needed to make plans for walks, zip lining etc. but they accommodated us as long as the weather cooperated. It would be nice to see a little more variety on the menu, which was the same for lunch and dinner.

Beautiful facility. Loved the hot water bottles in our bed at night. Limited areas to walk and dine w/o a car, but for one day we were able to take the loop walk by the waterfall and it worked well for us.

Spectacular setting. Very attentive staff. Delicious breakfast. I will be saying that about every place we stayed. This place is magical. It's kind of like a hidden valley Shangri-La. I think I will have dreams about this place. They will all be happy.

This was a wonderful experience. The accommodations were beautiful. The staff was courteous and friendly. The meals were excellent.
