Canopy Zipline - Arenal Paraiso

The Arenal Paraiso Canopy Zipline is an exciting and different way to view a rainforest. It is quite literally a flight over a river canyon located between La Fortuna and Lake Arenal, Costa Rica. The starting point is at the Arenal Paraiso Hotel which is situated right in front of Arenal Volcano. Your expert guide who is a professional with the most up-to-date safety equipment, will help you navigate across 12 platforms and 11 cables at heights up to 80 meters (approximately 260 ft) and lengths of roughly 350 meters, or about ¼ mile. The canopy zipline at Arenal is so close to the volcano, you not only have an opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of the forest and its inhabitants, but also experience the magnitude of the volcano itself.

The tour begins with transportation from your hotel in the town of La Fortuna and surrounding area, including the Chachagua Rainforest Hotel. You will be taken to the Arenal Paraiso canopy zipline where you will be fitted with the most modern safety equipment and instructed by your bilingual guide exactly what to do to insure your experience is the best possible. As you glide over the rainforest canopy, the adrenaline will rise not only because of the sensation of flight, but also due to the overwhelming beauty of the land and wildlife. The adventure ends at the Arenal River which borders the rainforest. A tractor ride through the rainforest will take you back to the reception area.

The tour includes transportation to and from your hotel, professional guide, and all safety equipment. The entire experience takes from 2 to 3 hours. One way transportation to Arenal Paraiso takes from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the location of your hotel. It is recommended that you wear long pants and fully enclosed shoes. Bring your sunscreen, insect repellent, rain gear, and camera. The safety helmets are equipped with hardware to attach a camera to record the experience.
